    Soup Restaurant [ Thamrin, China ]

    such a great restaurant, everything is tasty

    Teochew preserved black olives mixes with plain rice. The rice was so tasty that it could be eaten on its own and you can see how fluffy that rice was. The rice beautifully seasoned and had such interesting aromatic flavor. Dope, so dope I must say.

    One of the best chinese restaurant. Everything is ridiculously good. You don't even need recommendation, just randomly pick the menu and you'll get a deeply satisfying bite.

    Great food and services

    Thanks sheraton for such a wonderful night. The food was good, the ambiance was nice and the service was superb. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Kata Kata [ Muara Karang, Kafe ]

    Surprisingly it tasted good

    Green Curry Fish. Deep Fried dory with green curry served with roasted baby potato, small eggplant and unripe tomato. The baby potato was so so but the tomato and eggplant was not good. It's just not to my liking to be precise. A bit hard and tasteless.
    On the other hand, the dory was excellent. Very aromatic and lot of coconut flavor. The skin was a little punching and had kind of soft crunchiness to it. It had a mellow yet deep flavor. Superb.

    Solid Fusion Restaurant

    Nori Taco. Spicy Salmon, nori tempura, melted cheese and tobiko. The nori tempura was super crunchy and tasty and it gave a nice texture like crispy masterpiece. The tobiko had a salty and oceany and umami flavor. The melted cheese was good, just a little creamy and not overpowering any other ingredients. The salmon tasted fresh, fatty and raw. The spicy mentaiko was the bomb!! Creamy and salty and spicy and savoury, to sum it up, full of bomb flavor. It's everything I need, can't ask for more. Genius! When I saw they served me 2 pieces of this little thing in a huge plate, I thought "really? 50K for this?" 10 sec later, my mind went to "It's worth it!" It's dope!

    Ube Bomb. I've been curious for this place for a very long time. Finally yesterday I had the chance to try it. Checked this place with pergikuliner and the most interesting dish that caught my attention was this ube bomb.

    Taro pudding, cereals, fresh strawberry, mint leaf and condensed milk (the white liquid, not so sure about it but it tasted like one). Beautiful plating and I could hear the sounds of cracking popping candy which was interesting. The texture of the pudding was custardy, liked the texture so much. The taste? Not too sweet and yeah, I definitely tasted taro on that pudding. The cereal was giving a nice solid texture to bite. I couldn't taste the popping candy and I felt no popping sensation or whatsoever in my mouth. However, the condensed milk ruined everything. It made the pudding tasted so damn sweet. Couldn't finish the the pudding thanks to it.

    Let's forget about the ube bomb, the place is super good. It's not too big but super cozy, friendly services and the ambiance is exquisite.

    For the record, it's buffet. So you might not find this when you come.

    The chicken had strong rosemary taste. Not only the skin, the meat inside had a pungent rosemary hint. Even it had been sitting for quite a while, it still tasted good, juicy and not dry at all. They also had red and white sauce. The red sauce was weird, but the white sauce was good. Slightly sweet, salty and creamy. I did like the white sauce, but it tasted better to eat the chicken without the sauce. Just pure juicy chicken with rosemary fragrant.
    One of the best buffet restaurant. The attention to detail is high, the quality of the food is good. Unlike most of buffet restaurants, they never compromise.

    Fusion twist that surprise you

    Spam and Tamago Musubi. Japanese fluffy omelette was inserted between rice and thick cut spam. The omelette was fluffy but it lacked sweetness, it's kinda bland. But, the spam was really something. Salty and savoury with great texture. The outer was a bit crisp but the middle part was soft. The cook did a great job. The ratio between the rice and the spam was kinda missed, at least for me. Look, it's like 3 : 1. It's too big and easily crumbled. There's no civilized way to eat this.

    Come back over and over again

    Salmon Creamed Spinach. Pan fried salmon, lemon reduction and creamed spinach. I like the restaurant, but not this menu. The plating was kind of boring. The salmon was fishy and flaky. The inside was no longer in pink. The baby potato was hard and not tasty at all. The vinaigrette sauce was so so. It's somehow not really compliment the salmon. And the creamed spinach was super creamy but I didn't really taste the spinach. It's overpowering the natural earthiness of the spinach. So yeah, I recommend this place but this menu is just meh.

    Nori Taco. Have you seen this post in my feed? No, you haven't. Yes, I have posted the nori taco review before but the topping was spicy salmon. Now I'll tell you about the spicy tuna one. The nori tempura was dope as always. Crispy to perfection with salty and savoury flavor from the seaweed. The melted cheese was salty and creamy. The mentaiko was superb. Salty, spicy (spicier than the first time I came, but I still like it), creamy, super rich. Now the tuna, I'd never thought I'm gonna say this but I'd rather eat the tuna than the salmon. The tuna wasn't fishy at all, it's thick, it had such almost meaty texture to bite. The salmon one was more on the smooth side, but the tuna was totally a bad ass. You gotta try this. Eric approved!

    Soup Restaurant [ Thamrin, China ]

    A must try!

    It's drier than the first time I ate it, so I asked for extra sauce. It tasted like normal tofu. But, from my experiences I do learn that texture matters just as much as flavor. This tofu had superb texture. This time, silky would be understatement. Super soft and clean. To cover the bland taste, you definitely need the sauce. That's why I asked for more. It's sticky, sweet and very oniony. If I had to choose between this and their famous Samsui Chicken, I'd choose this without any doubt. I can get that kind of chicken somewhere else, but that silky tofu, nowhere.

    Best Sushi Place in Town

    Salmon Aburi Sushi. This place serves great quality sushi at reasonable price. Just look how fatty the salmon is. Fresh, fatty, thick and smoky. You need no shoyu to eat this but a little dip will make it even better. One of the best spot to eat sushi.

    Restaurant Sarang Oci [ Kebon Jeruk, Indonesia ]

    Indonesian food at its best

    Perkedel Jagung Crispy. You can call it the mighty perkedel jagung. Why? Super crisp texture and natural sweetness from the corn itself, you can find it nowhere else. It served with two types of sambal. Dabu dabu and rica rica. It tastes good on its own but do yourself a favor, eat the perkedel with those sambal. Dabu dabu has some nice sour kick to it and it will bring more refreshing taste. My fav is obviously the rica rica one. Spicy, oily and savoury. Deeply satisfying bite. Now tell me you don't want this.
    Udang Bakar Rica. The shrimp was succulent and super savory. Enhanced by the hot rica sauce, it gave huge bomb flavor. It had nice smokey flavor and even it's a little cold, it's still delicious. Don't forget to suck the head if you try this. So rich, tangy and lil bit seafoody. Indescribable. The tail was super crunchy, I did eat it just like cracker.
