    Little Pig Bak Kut Teh [ Sunter, China ]

    Little Goodness

    Awalnya lihat logonya kirain restoran chinese food biasa. Pas lihat kok ada banner authentic singapore bakuteh.

    Terus dapat tawaran voucher juga dari group*n, makin penasaran.

    Jadilah hari ini berdua suami kesini, kebetulan si tummy lagi upset dan si suami lagi batuk-batuk. Pas kalau makan yang hangat-hangat.
    Tadi pesan:

    Little Rib Soup (50k)

    Sliced Thin Meat Soup (35k)

    Tofu Skin (20k)

    Two bowls of rice (@5k)

    Cakwe (10k)
    Yang paling crucial dari bakuteh itu kuahnya!

    Dan si little pig ini, ladanya nendang, tapi buat rasa kuah, kayak ada yang kurang, gurih sih gurih, tapi kayak gurih msg (sorry, cmiiw tapi itu yang gue rasain)

    Si kulit tahunya enak, ada hint rasa herbalnya.

    Si sliced meat soup kuahnya beda sama bakuteh, lebih herbal rasanya dan less savory.
    Buat saya, porsi disini itu super pas 1 mangkok little ribs soup cukup buat saya makan sendiri, dan harganya masuk akal. 1 porsi dapat 1 rib panjang, 1 chunk of meat dan 1 small bone (daging+tulang rawan). Garlicnya though, agak kurang banyak dan kurang gendut-gendut.
    Cleanliness otomatis super spotless kan baru buka Oktober lalu. Suasananya asik banget, temboknya full mural, suasana alam cina gitu ceritanya. Cuma lagunya ya, relaxing sih, saking relaxingnya ingetin gue kayak di spa :p
    Yang jelas lagi ongoing promo diskon 10% sampao 31 desember 2016 dan pelayanannya oke disini, pas datang disapa dan menu langsung dikasih.

    Makanan juga lumayan cepat keluarnya.
    Total damage: 145k (incl disc 10%)
    Worth revisit kalau kepengen makan bakuteh (:

    Barley [ Sunter, Barat ]

    Hidden Gem in Danau Sunter?

    Penasaran sama tempat makan ini udah lama banget dan kemarin akhirnya coba.

    Sempet googling tentang owner/chef nya dan makin penasaran pengen cobain kayak gimana makanan disini.
    Begitu masuk, dekornya shouts western restaurant banget dan memang majority menunya adalah western food yang sebagian punya Indonesian twist (sambal matah aglio olio pasta.)
    Asli kursinya enak banget, biasa makan tu kadang kependekan atau ketinggian, ratio kursi sama meja makanannya, tapi disini pewe banget.
    Pelayannya beneran punya knowledge sama menunya, gak belepotan pas ditanya soal menu atau makanannya.
    Kita pesan appetizer dan seriusan datang duluan. Kadang ke restoran itu ngeselin pesan appetizer datang barengan sama main course.
    Cuma main coursenya emang agak lama disini. Tapi dimaafkan pas datang.
    I ordered Barbecue Grilled Chicken (50k)

    Awalnya parno bayangin si saus barbecue bakal mendominasi si grilled chicken, tapi ternyata came out nicely. Sausnya gak overwhelming tapi just nice (malah kurang kayaknya). Si sausnya kayak bukan tipikal bbq sauce yang merah-merah banget terus over asem sama manis doang. Sausnya gurih dan compliments rasa ayamnya (yeah I think they marinate the chicken beforehand!)

    I also think they homemade the french fries karena cut nya besar-besar dan rasanya fresh, bukan tipikal frozen fries. Dan sayurannya top! Sauteed with butter. Potongannya besar-besar jadi puas banget makannya.
    My husband and sister in law ordered Barley's signature volcano pizza. It was seriously HUGE!

    They ordered meat lovers, the pizza was so good, it is just we wish we did not flambe, as the flambe used liquor than turned into sweet coating to our pizza, hence it tasted a bit too sweet.
    My mom in law ordered pasta and we also ordered homemade potato chips which was too good to share! Potato chipsnya sama sekali gak greasy, gurihnya pas dan tipisnya pas.
    I would definitely go back here again to try their other menu.

    I really thank the chef for creating wonderful dishes. This place trully is a hidden gem in North Jakarta.
    The damage cost almost 300k for 4 pax.

    But with such quality, it is worth every penny!

    Kapten Steak [ Sunter, Barat ]

    Budget Steak = Worth Value?

    Penasaran sama tempat ini karena banyak yang bilang enak dan murah.

    Well, true to certain extend.

    It is cheap and not so bad.
    Pesan si Combi sapi dan ayam (65k)

    Pakai saus mushroom (tapi kayaknya ini lebih tepat saus cinnamon karena rasa kayu manisnya kenceng banget dan gak berasa mushroomnya sama sekali.)

    Pas pesan ditanya mau tingkat kematangan dagingnya apa, saya make sure ayamnya well done kan (dijawab "tentu saja" sama waiternya) dan sapinya medium well.

    Gak expect much jadi pas makanannya dateng, gak kecewa. Tapi ironisnya, sapinya well done, ayamnya malah medium rare dan sebagian malah rare sekalian.
    Si suami pesan sirloin lokal pakai saus butter. (53k ish)

    He loves his steak, good for him.
    Disini sausnya encer, malah cenderung kayak air banget.

    Tapi sauteed veggiesnya bukan frozen, walau kematengan masaknya, tapi salut karena biasanya budget steak house pakai frozen veggies dan gak banget.

    Side dish nya dapet sauteed veggies (wortel, buncis, kacang polong dan jagung) sama pilihan kentang (wedges/french fries/mashed/baked.)
    If you are a hardcore fan of steak, maybe this is not the right place to go. BUT if you are adventurous enough to try ALL steaks in the world, come here and try their unique style of steak. Steak disini di marinate dulu baru dimasak, makanya setiap bite ada rasa gurihnya. I am not a fan of marinated steak, I appreciate the meat quality and its simplicity; cooked in its juice and simple seasoning like salt and pepper.
    Buat yang lagi kepengen steak dan nyari rasa enak plus value, Kapten Steak bisa dicoba.
    Berdua habis sekitar 150k, buat 2 porsi steak, of course worth the value. Andai saja si ayam well done, saya pasti kasih rating yang lebih tinggi.

    Tregioia Creamery [ Alam Sutera, Es Krim ]

    Local-made Ice Cream

    Tregioia Creamery opened in June 2016. This new ice cream joint is located not too far from Alam Sutera toll exit.

    They have limited tables, to me personally, it is like the perfect place to hang out and to chit chat with friends, without having to shout at each other due to crowded place and the location itself is pretty far from main road, thus you won't hear the traffic.

    I ordered their waffle with a scoop of Berry ice cream, waffle wise was not that special. It was pretty decent and the ice cream was not overly sweet (which I loved about it so much) nor sour. You will get bits of berries in the ice cream, which is refreshing with a hint of tanginess.

    Tregioia offers two types of ice cream variants: Premium and Super Premium.

    In Super Premium you will find pretty exotic taste like durian, kopyor and avocado.
    The waitress claimed their ice creams are home made and using fresh ingredients.

    Their ice cream is not the overly creamy type and the texture is more like gelato.

    Amazingly the ice cream is not easily melt, although it sits on top of my hot waffle, nothing is worse than having a pool of melted ice cream on your waffle.

    If you like less sweet ice cream, Tregioia can be your next destination.
    Oh I also ordered their Latte Macchiato, but there was nothing special about their coffee.

    I really wish they offer more beverage menu like smoothies or milkshake!
    Would love to come back here for quiet ice cream treat afternoon.

    Bakmi Yong Yam [ Sunter, China ]

    Bakmi Enak Sejak 1928

    Sunday morning is bakmie hunting time. Yong Yam itu bakmi Singkawang. Model mienya tipis dan kecil. Mirip-mirip si bakmi G*. Tadi berdua pesan bakmi yong yam. Toppingnya ada udang rebus, ayam jamur yang manis, tauge (gede-gede dan bersih, top deh), babi cincang kukus, dan pangsit. Kuah bakmienya terpisah dan GURIH KALDU AYAM enak banget. Sampai habisin dua mangkok kuah sendirian hahahaha. Mienya enak rasanya pas, cuma si ayam jamurnya kemanisan buat saya. Pangsitnya juga agak hambar imho. Yang jelas disini tempat makannya adem karena AC, bersih banget, dan si owner benar-benar jagain higienis tempat makan, sampai tempat mayonaise/sambelnya dimasukin toples plastik. Sedotan, sumpit dan sendok di tempat tertutup dan peralatan makannya bersih banget. Asli, salut sama Yong Yam.

    Bakmi Yong Yam terima delivery Senin-Sabtu.
    Tadi sempat beli bakso gorengnya juga. Tapi saya gak gitu suka karena tekstur baksonya terlalu padat dan liat, jadi kurang crunchy. Plus kecil amat ya.
    Pelayanan disini ramah dan cepat banget.
    Thumbs up, bakal balik lagi cobain locupan atau varian bakmi lainnya.
