Love the dimsum! Great service!

Ketika saudara jauh datang, maka tidak valid kalo ga kuliner. Jadi mari berkunjung ke restoran pertama. Salah satu restoran chinese yang terkenal dengan dimsumnya, uda lama pengen cobain tapi baru kesampean sekarang.

Dari segi pelayanan dan kebersihan ga diragukan lagi, restoran di hotel emang punya standar yang berbeda. Pelayanannya topcer, gercep banget ngelayanin dari pesen makan - masak - keperluan sharing plate hingga pas kita mau bayar. Dari segi harga, lumayan kaget ternyata cukup affordable (meskipun porsi kecil, tapi mengingat ini restoran dalam hotel dan appreciate permainan flavornya jago!)

Deep-Fried Swan Dumpling with Black Pepper Duck Meat (98K) - so instagrammable sih pas keluar ada asap2nya gitu. I'm not a black pepper lover tapi yang ini ga overpowered dan jujur enak, duck meatnya juga lembut banget fillingnya. YUM (10/10)

Chef's Signature Trio Seafood Combination Platter (158K) - sweet sour fish roll with pine nuts, deep fried fresh squid with fragrant salt, pan fried hokkaido scallops with green spring onion ginger sauce. Cocok buat yang bingung mau pesen apa, pesen ini aja jadi bisa cobain dikit2, rata2 enak tapi  paling suka sweet sour pine nutsnya karena antik rasanya hehehe (8/10)

Siu Mai - Steamed Pork Dumpling with Scallops (38K) - ini rada shock begitu liat harganya dan scallopnya berasa. Enak sih ini, one of my fav. Simple tapi flavorful (9/10)

Xiao Long Bao - Shanghainese Pork Dumpling (38K). Another shocking price, enak bangeeet! Kuah didalem dumplingnya super good - cita rasanya dewa! Loveitsomuch (10/10)

Blueberry Snow Skin Dumpling (48K) - my favorite dessert, bener2 gasalah pilih. filling blueberry didalemnya ENAK & smooth dan mochinya super lembut  (10/10)

Kabar gembira minggu ini yaitu aku bisa berkesempatan mencicipi hidangan ala Michelin Guide di sebuah restoran mewah Li Feng, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta. Restoran ini cukup lama beroperasi dan populer sebagai restoran tiongkok yang menawan di pusat kota Jakarta. Kali ini mereka menghadirkan Chef Fei yang berasal dari Guangzhou dengan restoran Jiang by Chef Fei di Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou.

Chicken Siu Mai with XO Sauce, olahan siomay dari dagin g ayam dengan cita rasa yang pas dan tekstur empuk lalu dilengkapi dengan topping ebi di atasnya seingga semakin gurih.

Shrimp Wonton with Superior Szechuan Soy & Chili Oil, daging udang yang dibalut di kulit pangsit tipis dan lembut lalu disajikan bersama saus szechuan yang kehitaman namun memiliki rasa asam yang gurih yang berpadu sempurna.

Dilanjutkan dengan Imperial Hot and Sour Crab Meat Soup, dengan warna yang cerah, aroma harum. Suwiran daging kepiting dengan rasa asam soup yang pekat sungguh memberikan sensasi yang berbeda. Hidangan utama pertama yaitu Wok Fried King Prawn with Superior Soy Sauce, sajian udang cantik di atas potongan asparagus garing dengan saus yang pekat dan sangat gurih. Untuk menyeimbangkan, dilanjutkan dengan Poach Spinach with Dry Scallop and Chicken Consomme. Sajian sayuran hijau dengan rasa yang pas, bumbu tidak berlebihan, suwiran daging scallop dan kuah kaldu hangat yang lezat.

Dim Sum Mevvah

Dim Sum nya enak dan fresh, plating nya cantik dan menarik. Salah satu menu yang menarik itu udang yang dimasak sama gandum, jadi warna nya coklat keemasan (golden brown), size udang mye gede dan fresh. Enak banget, aku sih gak pake nasi, jadi makan sayur aja sama dim sum. Mantap.

Karena lagi hobby sama yang berbau flamingo or swan jadi mampir kesini demi dessert platter nya si angsa itu!!

Platter swan : isinya seperti pastel gitu isinya daging bebek lada hitam. crunchy banget rasanya ga sampe yg enakbanget..tapi lumayan lah, apalagi kalau dilihat dari seni nya lucu nya dapet bgt !!! Score 4/5

Dimsum : yg hitam2 itu dimsum yg isinya udang namun kulit nya yg berwarna hitam terbuat dari ink squid. Lalu siomay dan hakau jujur aja sama spt dimsum sekelas the DuxxKxxx, yang membedakannya adalah CABE DIMSUMNYA...ini mirip cabe buatan nyokab,, nah cabe yg kayak gini yg ga ada di resto berbintang lainnya SUPER DUPER ENAK.

Eggtart: egg tartnya enak..beda sama tart di tempat lainnya..tapi mini bite ukurannya.

Steer fried " mee-sua " with seafood and egg white pancake: ini bener2 MIRIP buatan nyokab. Juara.

Traditional PeckingDuck : biasa aja..masih banyak diluar yg lbh enak dari ini.

Stir-fried asparagus-prawn skewers : LAGI LAGI BENERAN MIRIP MASAKAN NYOKAB 100% AUTHENTIC pasti ini enakk banget. Silahkan coba..

Three dessert platter : ini dessert harganya lumayan 118k belum tax and taxservice.. order ini karena lucu aja buat foto !! Haha....untuk rasanya biasa aja pake banget malah..mahalnya mungkin karena terbuat dari FROG JELLY??!!!entahlah

Five star Dimsum

Siang2 pengen ngedimsum, ketemu lah resto dimsum lokasi nya di mandarin oriental  karena saya dateng nya jam 1 an resto nya uda mau tutup jam 3 siang.
Untuk makanan nya saya pilih beberapa dimsum ama main course.
1. Trio seafood plater: ini seafood plater isi nya ada ikan , cumi ama scallops. Untuk rasa ikan nya dibuat pake saus manis, cumi nya dimasak ama goreng tepung dan scallop nya di grill daging nya masi juicy. Ikan nya empuk kaga amis ama cumi nya kaga alot.
2. Swan dumpling : salah satu menu signature disini konon kata nya menu ini cuman ada 2 di dunia 1 di taiwan ama di di indo. Untuk plating nya emang cantik swan nya pas disirem pake air dry es berubah kayak kabut kalo untuk rasa swan nya pas dimakan garing kulit nya terus untuk isian nya ada bebek masak blackpepper. Enak ini swan dumpling wajib dicoba kalo kesini.
3. Xiao long bao : untuk xiao long bao nya enak dimakan pas masih panas isian nya pake daging babi nya meleleh pas dimakan. Enak kuah nya.

Best DimSum

Li Feng, a Chinese fine dining restaurant located inside Mandarin Oriental. Legend said that this restaurant has the best dimsum in the town. Before I came I've contacted their Captain Mr. Rudi Wibowo for the menus and my dining preferences. Then on saturday, I made it there.

The interior resembles a Chinese ship which has a story behind it. Mr Rudi told me that it is based on history when Chinese empire sailed to Indonesia to open a trade routes, and the ship they were using became an inspiration to create this restaurant.

The restaurants itself isn't really spacious, yet the interior has a blue and yellow dominant color which is different than usual chinese restaurant which prefer to use a red color theme. It has a blue glass ornament on the ceiling of the restaurant which resemble the wave that take on the ship. The restaurant also came out with a dimly light to give a more private and romantic ambience around it, but because I want to take a good picture I requested them to make it brighter for my table.

For lunch they provide ala carte menu and dimsum menu, this time I was going for their dimsum menu. For a fine dining restaurant, the price given isn't really that high. For me it's pretty affordable. A dimsum costs you just for 25-40k.

Here's what I ordered : 

- Shrimp Har Gau (10/10) : har gau was solid, juicy, and delicious. The shrimp and bamboo shoots filling given was generous. 

- Siu Mai with Scallops (10/10) : it's kinda rare to see a steamed dimsum siu may topped with scallops. Siumay was delicious, and the scallops on top of it was so soft, not chewy at all. and perfectly cooked. 

- Chicken Black Truffle Bun (10/10) : the white chinese bun was so soft, with a generous filling of chicken and black truffles. The black truffles was so fragrant and give a flavor kick to the bun. 

- Steamed Rice Roll with BBQ Pork (10/10) : this one was so amazing, usually steamed rice roll came out to be soft, but in here the steamed rice roll was chewy like a mochi texture but not overwhelming. The bbq pork inside was so fragrant and juicy as well. Perfect!!! 

- Xiao Long Bao Shanghainese Pork Dumpling (8/10) : this was my first time trying xiao long bao. This dumpling contains juice inside it, and when you give your first bite, it will explode and fill your mouth with the juices. But for me, the pork filling inside wasn't really fragrant and also it's too gingery for me. But it's not bad though.

- Turnip Cake with XO Sauce (8/10) : It tasted good, the turnip cake was so soft and tender. But I wish that they make the side of the turnip cake to have more crunch on it, so it will have a feel of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. 


 - Black Swan Dumpling (10/10) : this is the signature dish in here. Legend said this dish is only available at 2 location in the world, the first one is located at Li Feng Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, and the second one is located at Jiang by Chef Fei at Mandarin Oriental GuangZhou. The dish consists of black swan shaped dumpling with a generous black pepper duck meat filled inside the dumpling. First the waiter will come to your table and bring a plate full of black swans, then he/she will pour some water to fill the holes which have some dry ices underneath. The result is an eruption of ice fog that will create an amazing view in which the swans will look like they're floating on the cloud. The dumpling was crunchy yet the blackpepper duck filling didn't taste too spicy also. It was so delicious, and I can call this dish a masterpiece. 

- Homemade baked Egg Tarts (10/10) : it came in a small bite size, but it was so fragrant yet not too sweet. So perfect for a pre dessert. 

- Blueberry Snow Skin Dumpling (10/10) : A beautiful presentation for a dessert. It was served on a wooden ancient chinese scroll plate. The texture was soft, the blueberry sauce doesn't overwhelm the flavor, and it has a cold sensation in my mouth. Amazing!

- Cooked Pu Erh Tea Lao Man Er 2015 (9/10) : A cooked Pu Erh Tea from Lao Man Er which has a earthy yet soothing taste within it. Tea cost you for 68k++. But there was a misunderstanding on the menu though, they should write that the price given for the tea is for only 1 person, The staff also didn't inform me about this information. So when I ordered this tea (I came here with my parents, so in total of 3 persons), they counted it as 3 times from the price given, so I had to paid around 250k for this tea. (TwT)

The service was very good, the waiter and waitress were so attentive towards their customer, especially Mr. Rudi Wibowo who served our table directly. Also I've got the chance to meet and took a photograph with Chef Chang See Loy who was the Executive Chef in Li Feng.

If you ask me will I come back to this restaurant once again. Of course I will, next time I'm going to try their main course (szechuan beef, sweet sour chicken, fried fish skin are their signature also). I am looking towards for it.

Ini hitam gitu, karena direndam pakai vinegar jadi rasanya asem2 manis. Unik juga ini, mayan enak
