So I got a plan to revisit Valentino once again. This time instead of ordering their business lunch menu, I chose to order their ala carte menu. I was pretty curious what real pizza taste like, the one that is baked in a traditional wood fire oven.
So I ordered their Margherita Pizza, as one of the classic Italian. Then paired with buy 1 get 1 dessert from Club Ala Carte application. For dessert I ordered Classic Tiramisu, while my partner ordered Souffle al Cioccolato as the free dessert.
They also gave us a welcome bread served with Salsa Verde as a dip. As our pizza had come, we tried it and I could describe that the pizza is different than the typical pizza. It has a crust on the side which was hand stretch dough, the pizza was thin, with a slightly burnt flavor on the edge of the pizza because of the direct fire from the wood fire oven. Combined with tomato puree, basil, mozzarella plus salsa verde dipping made the pizza even more tasty.
For the Tiramisu, I heard that Valentino serves the best Tiramisu in this town. Yes, I could confirm that the tiramisu was really really good, served in a classic way using espresso and savoiardi (lady finger). The souffle al ciccolato also shines here as the texture of the souffle was just right, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream also made it better.
For my surprise, Chef Marco gave me a complimentary Panna Cotta. Served with classic raspberry coulis and caramel dome, the Panna Cotta was really good and the texture was just perfect.
Overall, I was really satisfied when revisit Valentino, as I could meet Chef Marco on person and took a picture together with him. And for the food, it's all good and I think it's worth a penny.
