Having a bowl of hot porridge during a cool rain---isn't it soothing? And that's exactly what we had in this popular eatery in Mangga Besar. Our quick dinner here was undeniably pleasant but not so to our wallet.
We had three bowls of porridge, a big plate consisting of 1/2 steamed chicken, chicken heart and gizzard (ati ampela) and two century eggs (telur pitan) with additional tofu with soy sauce and cakue, as well as some hot tea. Everyone's favorite is surely the steamed chicken: nicely seasoned succulent meat. The cakue is also a perfect company the porridge. The rest is nice to be your extra toppings. All of these cost us 219.000. For mere porridge, it is quite above the average price for sure.
n.b. For the meantime, the access from Jalan Labu was closed due to some roadworks, so you may need to park somewhere else and walk a bit. But thanks to this, I didn't need to deal with its infamous hecticness.
