Korean restaurants are no doubt already widespread in Jakarta, and Jong Ga can be one recommended alternative to enjoy scrumptious Korean dishes with big portion at good prices. It is located in one building with Gandy Steakhouse on Hayam Wuruk, so it won't be difficult to locate this restaurant. Dimly lit and not so crowded, it is also a cozy place for casual or formal gathering.
As to the barbeque selection, we tried its Sam Gyeop Sal (Pork Belly) & Dak Galbi (Marinated Chicken). Both were succulent and delicious, especially when eaten along with other complimentary fixings (e.g. Kimchi, Mini Potato, Fish Cakes, Turnip, etc) in a wrapped lettuce. Enriching our Korean culinary experience even more is the tteobbeoki, rice cakes simmered in sweet Korean gravy. Don't forget as well your free tofu soup and steamed egg. And last but not least, some assorted fruits were also served again for free.
Praises have to be given as well to the excellent service. Servers are friendly and responsive, and drinks (again, free tea) are constantly refilled without us asking them to do so.
