went here with my family last weekend and really satisfied with their dishes. First of all, I love the interior of seroeni, it has fushion urban art deco kinda feel to it. Their menu is kinda different from ordinary chinese restaurant, it has authentic peranakan twist with a lot of local ingredients combination such as balacan and so on. We ordered 3 dishes, steam stuffed tofu, balacan fried chicken, fried rice vermicilli and singapore crispy sotong. The serving time can be considered as long, we waited for more than 15 minutes for the dishes but thankfully all of the dishes were delightful. Their tofu dishes was steamed along side with cheese and minced chicken meat, the meat was not dry and balanced well with soft egg tofu. The fried rice vermicilli was good enough not too oily, it really gave a peranakan vibes. I also loves their balacan chicken, it was marinated well to the deep of their bones.

From all of the dishes, I especially loves the singapore crispy sotong the most! It kinda taste the same as c*ntr*al crispy fried squid, the squid was fried until it was super crispy and the texture goes well with their savoury sauce.

For the beverages, I was tempted by all of their variety but in the end I ordered their tea. It was kinda a let down for me, although that the snow ice on top of the tea has amazing creamy flavor but when it melts to the tea it tasted like ordinary sweet ice tea, maybe I'll just try their tea tarik next time. Overall, great option for those who seeks chinese cuisine with a bit of local taste to it.
