Eating at Furusato Izakaya makes me feel that I’m in Japan already. This restaurant is one of hidden gems here in Jakarta.

My friend and I enjoyed our lunch at a private room, only for two people (actually fit for 3 or 4 people before the pandemic). The staff on duty checked our body temperature & request guests to wash our hands. 

This restaurant has seating with table & chairs as usual at semi outdoor area. They also have private tatami & horigotatsu style dining room.

The food served at low traditional tables with cushions to sit on the floor. We need to remove our shoes before entering the room and use slippers provided by the restaurant. Staffs in charge are very polite & friendly to us. They always ready to answer our questions regarding the menu. 

Our lunch are: 

Maguro Katsu 

Tuna cutlet with oyster sauce & shimeji, delicious, the plating is pretty, totally recommended. 

Maguro Hamburg 

We thought hamburg made from beef but actually is hamburg tuna. Served as set menu, complete with rice & side dishes. 

Salmon chazuke, 

Is Japanese rice bowl with soup and dashi with slices of salmon on top, very delicious and totally suitable to be called comfort food.



We also have cold ocha & Hokkaido Mille Crepe, perfect dessert, you can feel the combination of matcha & red beans melted in your mouth. 

For you ootd lovers, this restaurant surely worth your visit. Good food & ambiance
