An unexpected find thanks to a friend’s recommendation. Foods were mostly hit, price was affordable, portion was huge. Imo, better than its sister brand daitokyo despite having being less crowded. I guess I need to explore more Blok M restaurants🤔? Parking situation sucks though (particularly on weekends).

Pork/Chicken Curry Rice (130k) ⭐️9/10
The best katsu curry I’ve tried in Jakarta so far. Katsu was substantial in size, juicy and fried perfectly (for both pork and chicken). Highlight was the curry itself though, not too sweet but perfectly balanced with umami and even hints of slight pepperiness. Curry also had generous amount of tender beef inside. Portion can be shared for two people, as the set includes both Japanese rice and cabbage slaw.

Butatama Okonomiyaki (68k) ⭐️8.5/10
Pork and egg Osaka-style okonomiyaki. Most okonomiyaki I tried was too doughy but this one had balanced ratio between cabbage, flour, and eggs. There’s a fluffiness to it that prevents the batter from being too dense while not falling apart.

Chicken Karaage (47k) 7.5/10
Good karaage, very crunchy while meat was still juicy on the inside. They gave you lemon wedge and salt pepper on the side but batter itself was already flavorful enough.

Tempura Moriawase (89k) 6.5/10
Typical tempura platter, batter was above average though, thin, light, and crispy without being too greasy.

Dashimaki Tamago (38k) 5/10
The only somewhat letdown dish of the night. There’s nothing wrong with it per se, it’s mostly the fact that we were expecting it to be tamagoyaki (sweet Japanese omelette) but turns out this was the more savory version made with dashi stock.
