This is my third time trying Indian Cuisine. Awalnya aku gak pernah mau nyoba karena takut gak cocok dengan selera aku, namun semua nya berubah semenjak aku mencoba makanan India di New Zealand. Langsung jatuh cinta sama makanan India 😆, pulang-pulang balik Jakarta langsung cari restoran India dan kebetulan ketemu The Royal Kitchen ini.
First thing first: ambiance & decor nya on point banget! Suka banget sama dekornya yang memang menggambarkan India. Dari lampu-lampu, dinding, hingga pakaian staffnya. Even the menu! Di dekor engraved indian style.
Food: aku coba Jumbo Crispy Samosa(deep fried crispy puffs stuffed with cubes of tangy flavored potato & green peas), Chicken Tikka Masala(boneless piece of chicken tikka marinated with chop onion & tomato base gravy) this one is my fav karena memang makanan india yg pertama kali aku cobain ini dan lsg suka! Jadi selalu pesen ini :), Butter Naan perfectly baked and lastly Murgh Dum Briyani(chicken cooked with saffron flavored rice) ini juga enak banget chickennya very tender 👌
Drinks: we ordered chocolate shake & camomile tea. The shake size was a bit shocking tho karena lumayan kecil. Dan camomilenya per cup, bukan teko gitu jadi harus beli lg kalau habis.
Menu yang dipesan: Jumbo Crispy Samosa, Murgh Dum Briyani, Naan
Tanggal kunjungan: 30 Mei 2019 Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000
Why you will love it ❤ 1. Service is good, staff are very attentive and friendly. The manager made quite a few jokes, very funny. 2. Decoration of the restaurant is beautiful. 3. The chicken tikka masalla is great and eat it with their garlic naan you have got a winner. Best dish I had during my visit, hands down. The portion is quite small but the dish was super flavourful. If I come back, it's only because their naan and chicken tikka masalla combo is like a match in heaven. 4. There is buffet option if you are super hungry, but I opted for the ala carte.
What could be improved 🙏 1. The portion is quite small. Perhaps one dish is good for just 2 hungry people or 3 normal people. 2. I've had better Indian food in other restaurants. When I visited here some of the dish were a bit on the salty side like gosht seek khebb. Saag paneer was a bit bland, though the size of the cottage cheese is quite big. Biryani lacked flavour and was a bit stingy on the protein though the baby lamb was nice and tender. The high price could be justified if the taste was out of this world, unfortunately this Indian restaurant for me is a bit overrated.
