Ayam Rebus. It tasted good but it's not the best steamed chicken I've ever tried. The chicken was lean, tender and juicy. They also put some ginger and sesame oil aside to enhance the flavor out. Oh, if you look closely, there's brown colored chicken behind. That's the fried chicken. It was the first time I tried their fried chicken, and it tasted good but not as good as the steamed one. Well, my friends prefer the fried one to the steamed one. So it's just a matter of preferences.
The place itself is quite good actually. Clean and full air-con. But, let me be honest. I come for the food, so I prefer bubur angke in THI than this one. Matter of fact, I believe Bubur Angke has the best steamed chicken I've ever had. Very pungent and super tender. Their porridge is sweet from the chicken bone. But here, it tasted just like regular porridge with some pulled chicken inside. Nothing stand out.
So yeah, for the place itself, Bubur Mangga Besar clearly win the competition. But from the taste aspect, Bubur Angke gonna kick Mangga Besar's ass.
