Vanilla Citron (47k) 8.5/10
Favourite tart in Chicory. You could really taste the vanilla bean and it’s perfectly balanced with the zestiness of the lemon curd. For some reason the crust in this one was way crunchier and more buttery than the fruits based ones.

Omelette (155k) 8/10
Served with your choice of cheese (I picked brie). Really well made omelette, soft and fluffy without bring too runny, and top notch ciabatta as well. The cheese adds nice accent to the dish particularly after it melts.

French Toast (160k) 8/10
Priciest french toast I’ve tried here hahaha🙃. That said, I really liked the unique combination of fruits (pitaya and papaya) over your usual berries. Interior was perfectly custardy, which is my preferred for french toast. Value wise, you can get great french toast at other places (e.g. Levant and Beau).

Almond Croissant (42k) 8/10
Perfectly crispy, flaky, and buttery. Chicory and Levant have been my go to for croissants in Jakarta (not including the recent influx of Bali brands opening here Lol). Not the most generous in terms of filling, however in this case this was actually a good thing since the almond frangipane was quite sweet.

Carrot Cake (60k) 7.5/10
Personally my favourite cake in Jakarta. Imo this is better than Union’s. Keep in mind that I don’t like my carrot cake filled with nuts so the sparse mix in is actually a plus for me. Very fragrant with spices and not too sweet, also they give the right amount of cream cheese, not too much but not too little.

Wildberry Tart (60k) 7/10
More sour vs the pear but not as much as the vanilla citron. Good solid option for most people I reckon, simple berry combination but perfectly balanced with sweet-sour taste. Crust wise unfortunately this one was pretty soggy and not buttery enough. It tasted kind if bland.

Coffee Profiterole (25k) 7/10
Very strong dominant coffee flavour. It’s good but not to the extent that I’m craving this again. Mom’s a fan though. Will recommend eating this cold.

Pear and Blueberry (60k) 6/10
My ratings went down for this one since for some reason there was barely any blueberry in the tart (they used to be more generous). The parts where you get both fruits are still the best part, but the pear section is not too bad either, mildly sweet and not too eneg. Crust wise, unfortunately the same as the pear and blueberry one.

Cocoa 70% with Almond (52k) 6/10
Pretty good hot chocolate but probably won’t repurchase. Couldn’t taste the almond and it’s not as thick as I would have liked.

64% Cocoa with Earl Grey (50k) 5/10
Prefer the 70% since this one is ‘nanggung’ like both the chocolate and earl grey flavours were both too mild.

Passionfruit Creme Pistachio (57k) 5/10
Not a fan of mousse so I still prefer their other goods. This was well made and mousse was incredibly light, however the ratio was off for me. Imo there was not enough pistachio cake and biscuit. As a result, the sourness of the passionfruit was quite overwhelming for me.

Chicken Pie (90k) 3/10
The only fail I’ve had here so far. Skip. Bland, soggy pie. Portion is massive but there’s really no flavour.

Kecil namun nyaman, itulah kesan saat memasuki Chicory European Patisserie di daerah Menteng ini. Beberapa meja berkursi tunggal tampak terisi oleh pengunjung yang sibuk bekerja sendirian di depan laptop. Sebagian besar meja lain penuh dengan mereka yang berbincang hangat bersama. Banyak pengunjung namun tetap tenang. Interior dan suasananya membuat betah ngobrol berlama-lama. 

Untuk makanan ada beragam roti, pastry, cake, dan pie. Minumannya ada kopi dan juga non kopi. 

Rasa makanannya sendiri menurut saya enak namun tidak terlalu istimewa. Sesuai dengan rasa pastry dan pie pada umumnya. Untuk harga memang cukup mahal, namun menjadi biasa mengingat lokasi cafe ini di daerah Menteng. 

Secara keseluruhan, cafe ini memang menjual suasana nyaman. Jadi jika Anda butuh tempat ngobrol santai dan nyaman dengan sahabat atau kolega, cafe ini bisa jadi pilihan tepat. 

Kesini lagi setelah sekian lama, teenyata sekarang tempatnya lebih spacious, menu untuk dinner/lunch juga lebih banyak. Jadi ruangannya kaya terbagi 2 gitu, sebelah kanan konsepnya fine dining, di sebelah kiri lebih casual. Disini tempatnya sangat amat bersih dan rapih, designnya minimalis tapi ada sentuhan classicnya. Nyaman banget tempatnya 👌

Kebetulan aku kesini sudah malam, jadi pilihan patisserienya tinggal sedikit. Aku beli untuk take away beberapa, diantaranya, brie quiche, almondine, saussage roll, apricot coupote dan satu lagi chocolate cake. 

Kalau chicory ini dari dulu memang taste nya punya kelas tersendiri, semua yang aku coba ini enak banget dan rasanya mewah. Mewah itu terasa dari bahan-bahan yang digunakan sangat premium, bukan rasa yang pasaran gitu loh, susah dijelaskan dengan kata-kata. Hahaha. Jadi tidak heran kalau disini agak pricey, kualitas yang didapat sebanding dengan harganya. 

Oh ya semua cake nya dibuat langsung oleh chef sekaligus ownernya, foreigner tapi entah dari mana. Hehe.

Went to @chicorypatisserie two weeks ago and excited to try their butter 🥐 and tart😌 and i chose Wildberries one!

Not gonna lie, these two were soo good! 🥐 was buttery inside, crispy outside. Parah sih!! :’)) gausa pake butter jg ud endul bgtbgtt…. Kalo tartsnya juga enak dari homemade blueberry jam gtu, seger, ada manis & asem. Trs diatasnya itu almond cream, yeaa super nice combooo😛🫐

Sulit menolak kalau diajak ke resto dengan ambience santai dan asyik seperti chicory ini. Dining area bagian depan lebih santai, cocok untuk menikmati tea or coffee time sambil memandangi jendela besar. Di area ini pun ada rak display yang memajang aneka cake dan bakery, sayangnya dilarang memotret.

Sementara dining area bagian dalam lebih formal, set table bergaya perancis tertata rapih, cocok untuk lunch atau dinner.

Pesanan saya Hot Chocolate (50k) beraroma earl grey, enak sekali, kondisinya hangat, kental, less sugar. Pendampingnya ada marshmallow, ngga saya santap karena memang kurang suka marshmallow.

Pesanan teman saya pun hampir sama, yang membedakan hanya marshmallownya rasa lemon saja, bisa dicelup atau disantap begitu saja.

Tiga jenis cake kami pesan, ketiganya berbentuk menggemaskan, rasanya juga enak meskipun akhirnya di takeaway karena waktu ngga banyak buat nongkrong berlama-lama. Juga beli cake dan pastry tambahan untuk di bawa pulang. Dari beberapa jenis cake dan pastry, yaitu Tropical 2 (30k), Vanilacitron (47k), Caramel Prof (26k), Orange Almond (40k), Danish (34k) dan Cheesecake (60k), favorit saya Orange Almond, manisnya dark chocolate ketemu orange peel itu memang perfect.

French Brie (65k) pesanan teman saya juga enaak, savory tart dengan potongan brie cheese diatasnya, soft, wangi kejunya memang membuat kudapan ini istimewa.

Staff disini juga ramah, pelayanan cepat, next time pasti mampir lagi buat mencicipi aneka cake lainnya.
