    Collage - Hotel Pullman Central Park [ Slipi, Barat, China, Jepang ]

    Germany October Festival

    Came back in Jakarta and it's October, time for celebrate Germany October Festival. Many restaurant has been offering Germany food package this month. This time i am having chance dinner at Collage, it is spotted at Pullman Hotel Central Park. Actually i have been here for several times before, as i know they are serving many variant of foods by asian or western.

    This evening, they have different menu by October festival event. I am going to have Germany style menu from main course to dessert. First start, i am having Corn Soup.

    It is beautiful yellow color, warm and taste sweet. Sure it is lovely, and here is tiny plate of Germany Cucumber Salad.

    Nothing much to describe, it is only plain slices of cucumbers with baby tomato & bean sprouts. Then i have few salads with various ingredients like fish, prawn, clams, bean curd, vegetables and fruits.

    After several of appetizers, i am moving to main course and start with Germany style Pork Chop with Barbeque Sauce.

    This really taste good, nice texture, perfect bite and tasty sauce, sure it has fat :-D but assure you it is great! Next dish i have is Lamb Schnitzel. i can say the lamb is bit dried, but still acceptable. outside skin fried super crunchy and i like it though.

    Then I have few kind of sausages by chicken, beef, pork & lamb.

    Each sausage has different smell and color, sure also different taste and texture. Over all it taste meat, i prefer the chicken and beef, for the other two i think it has the smell that i do not like especially the lamb sausage.

    Next i am having Sauerbraten.Sure Germany love their meat! It is a delicious roast pork dish, usually served with braised cabbage or sauerkraut and dumplings (knoedel). Then i have Kohiroulade. German style cabbage rolls with meat fillings, it normally could using beef or lamb. but this one has using pork. Cabbage skin has soft texture and meat has good taste and nice seasoning.

    Next is Knödel. It is Germany style dumplings, it using beef meat with some spices. It sure tasty, the seasoning suure well sucked into the meat, also it has nice bite. Another dish is Chicken Chop with Red Sauce. It is typical chicken chopped with sauce, but they do make sure all meat cooked well done especially chicken is a must. So far i have been eaten quiet many kind of foods in here, salads, vegetables and of course meats. Closing dish i need is dessert, i having some of cakes and lemon curd. It sure looks lovely and it does taste delightful.

    Bale Lombok [ Tanah Abang, Indonesia ]

    Specialized Ayam Betutu

    In this town, not so many Lombok restaurant you may found. Bale Lombok could be nice choice for having ayam betutu also ayam taliwang. Usually it crowded during weekend.

    Place is quite dark at dinner time, i catch many of bugs even inside the restaurant but foods are good, and they could served it fast. All dish here are about spicy, each menu has different taste of spiciness. I assure you need bunch of cold water to get chill.

    Price is much reasonable, portion of food is good enough and also service is fine, there are not much of smile, but they could manage customer good and fast.

    Kenny Rogers Roasters [ Sudirman, Barat ]

    Healthy dinner

    as by the tagline, Kenny Rogers Roaster built concept, less fat, less salt & less calories. Place is quiet than one of top fast food, KFC. Only few customers i saw, and it absolutely quiet around the restaurant.

    Food does have huge portion for person, full chicken meat, much sauce, completed with salad and two sidedishes. There should be have muffin for each plate menu.

    But what disappointed is taste not so good, healthy doesn't mean have to be less taste. But this i am not recommended if you're looking fat, tasty foods. They absolutely made food less salt, less fat.

    Service just fine, some waiter couldn't explain properly the menu. But still acceptable.

    Pizza Marzano [ Thamrin, Italia ]

    More Slices

    Pizza absolutely thin, but has wide round size and full of toppings. It does crispy bites especially the edges side. I love each bite has much variant of taste, chicken, mozzarella, and many others great ingredients baked well done.

    Place is fine, it is tend to be crowded during dinner time, service was quiet miserable, i had been waiting about 45 mins for foods, ans waiter seems confused with many of customers. Price is ok i guess, pizza with good taste should be worthed.

    Kampung Daun [ Lembang, Indonesia ]

    Cosey Village Lunch

    I am here with my family, we order several Indonesia typical dishes. start by Karedok. It is a raw vegetables mixed with peanut sauce. All fresh ingredients mixed in tasty peanut sauce. Vegetables texture are crunchy and completed with Kerupuk. Next starter is Batagor, another typical Indonesia Sundanese dish, fried fish dumplings usually served with peanut sauce.

    For this one i think peanut sauce not strong enough, it more sweet soy sauce taste. But fish and tofu are cooked well done. After two starters, we are ready for our main course with a Nasi Pepes Kemangi with Sambal Pete. It is a rice in leaf, with basil, soybean completed with petai or bitter bean chili.

    Food smells good, authentic Sundanese is strong here, basil giving a nice flavor and Petai chili is awesome. Next dish i'd like to describe is Grilled Gurame with Dabu Dabu Chilis.

    Stunning color with great smell. It looks beautiful poured with fried onion and chlli looks fresh and good. It does taste great, nice white fish meat perfect with the sour chili taste and of course super hot! Another Gurame dish is Gurame Soup.

    This one has beautiful plating using little frying pan on tiny stone stove with little fire inside to keep it warm. soup having strong sour taste, giving a buzz and fresh flavor. Fish cooked well done, looks beautiful color and meat texture in good condition. For closing we are having Surabi, one on authentic West Java dish.

    This is Surabi Oncom. i am not recommended for this one. Surabi too dried and oncom does feels burned. I can't taste any flavor only dry dough with fired oncom on it. another surabi isSurabi with coconut sauce.

    This one has nice green colour in thick white coconut sauce. Sauce give much flavor but the surabi has same texture as the Surabi Oncom, it is too dry and it wont blended well with the sauce, taste like two dishes in one plate together. Don't forget before leave i have a glass of aloe vera ice. Well it has beautiful color and slices of fresh aloe vera, but i don't expect for yellow syrup to make it beautiful, freshness from it own should be better.

    Carnivor Barbecue [ Pantai Indah Kapuk, Barat ]

    Full MEats Platter

    Sunday, another moment for dish hunting. This weekend i went to Carnivor. It is been trending surround the town though. It is located at Pantai Indah Kapuk Area, align with Sumoboo, Tim Ho Wan and others.

    I think Carnivor has been existed since PIK become a hang out spot in Jakarta. As the name, we already have a thought this restaurant is offering Meats as the main course and it is right. Carnivor is having concept of restaurant and grilled bar. Various meats on menu and sidedishes and it is built of american grilled restaurant. Without any appetizers, i order main dish by meats platter.

     It is consist of Pork ribs, beef sausage, grilled chicken and french fries. Pork ribs has great sauce on it. Stunning colour and it is cooked well done. But different case with the sausage taste just fine, i don't feel taste of meat flesh, it is more of instant beef sausage. And then i have grilled chicken. two pieces by leg and chest part. It is grilled nicely matches perfect with the sauce. last dish after main course should have dessert. I choose Avocado Lava Cake.

    It served beautifully with vanilla ice cream. But what not so satisfying is the filling of cake is not much melted. It's too thick. But over all it is taste delicated.

    Nasi Bakar Tacose [ Grogol, Indonesia ]

    Hidden spot, good Nasi Bakar

    It has really small place for mall restaurant and it is quite dark around. Actually they are serve various of Indonesian foods. But what special here is the Nasi Bakar. Excatly the Nasi Bakar is really good, typical package with leaf, it is smells good, and it is tasty indeed.

    what glad is, the food is much reasonable price. more than enough portion for person i guess. just cleaness should get better and service could be smarter

    Mie Udang Singapore Mimi [ Green Ville, China ]

    Mie Udang Singapore

    This restaurant has a home concept. It's not an exclusive spot but it has full table occupied. Good thing for me, got an available parking space just right front of the restaurant.

    Service absolutely horrible, as normal home restaurant, staff wouldn't give much smile for customer or any welcome greetings. We even didn't get menu until we have to wait about half hour. I don't really mind wait quiet long, but what disappointed is no warmly act at all.

    I just got my menu after asked for twice. I ordered their special dish, Mie Kuah Udang Singapore, it is a noodles in red soup with prawns, and some ingredients. It does have stunning red color and strong smell. 

    But it s not really tasty though, soup feels tasteless, i put some chili powder to give more spice. Another dish is Fried White Noodles, it is just typical fried white noodle with soy sauce also eggs and vegetables. It should be strange when one restaurant is crowded, but food does not expected what it taste like.

    Collage - Hotel Pullman Central Park [ Slipi, Barat, China, Jepang ]

    Collage Pullman Central Park

    Who doesn't know Pullman Central Park  ... one of luxury hotel spotted in one of most traffic in town with few malls and apartments. It is located exactly on Central Park Mall, if you're pass through the Sogo Dept store, there has a exit door aside and just right go to the Pullman.

    In this hotel has their signature restaurant called Collage. Actually i had been here for dinner previously. For this time i having chance to taste dessert by Chef Alexis Gudimard, pastry chef in Collage. week ago accidnetally i watched on TV, Masterchef Competition show and he was a guest mentor for making beautiful dessert called St Honore.

    It's really wonderful i could have chance for this and even met him there. He seems nice and kindly talk about what he's doing and how exactly making the dessert. Chef Alexis has been working in Collage about 2 years and he is specialist of dessert and pastry in there.

    So without spending more time, he offering us two main of his dessert. One is St Honore and another one is Royal Cake.

    St Honore is classic French dessert, fiinger of puff pastry at its base with a ring of pâte à choux piped on the outer edge. This base is traditionally filled with crème chiboust and finished with whipped cream using a special St. Honoré piping tip. It is absolutely delightful, nixe texture of pastry and cream taste light sweet sure after eat alot, i should be feels good with this dessert. And it is perfect with the sour cinnamon.

    It is fresh, sour and sweet blended well. and as it looks beautiful on plate over all. Another dessert is royal cake. It is delicate chocolate cake covered in chocolate layer sauce and it has a crunchy based also with poured of almond slices.

    Look at it! beautiful chocolate layers from top top bottom and i assure it does taste good! chocolate pleasure. Don't forget last closing by fresh drink of Strawberry Ice tea. It is beautiful red color, cold and feels happiness.

    Central Restaurant [ Green Ville, China ]

    Family Restaurant

    What i always remember Sept is time for Mom birthday month. days before with my brother and sister in law, we having a surprise plan for her in birthday. What plan is getting dinner and my brother would appears up there. We decided to have celebrated it at Central Kitchen. It is spotted not so far from my place, around Greenville Area.

    Actually i had been to here before for several times. What i know this one of recommended Chinese restaurant around West Jakarta. At first, i am with my mom and dad arrived at the restaurant. I am pretending having voucher to be use that night would be last day for redeemed. In fact they are believed it while my brother, his wife, child and friend hide inside the car around the restaurant.
    While my parent busy looking at the menu, i ask others to come inside and ready for the shot time. But in fact we bit failed, when they get inside the restaurant, my mom noticed it in hesitated mode but she'll come sure that are them. Well at least she had short term surprise but plan for cake is failed :-D.

    So all here and we are ready to order. For birthday never forget for Birthday noodles. We ordered several menus. first comes out is Angsio Tahu.

    It is a bean curd sauteed with white mustard and slices of chicken dipped in red sauce. It is tasty, bean curd in good shape and texture. Next dish is Udang Goreng Telur Asin. It is a Fried Prawn in Salted egg flavor. It is really great, crunchy and prawn taste good perfect blended with the salteg egg taste. And here it is time for Birthday Noodles.

    It is a typical fried noodles with vegetables, chicken, shrimps. Bit shocked the portion of this is really huge plate and such a mountain. It is really good, i even eat for 3-4 times and my niece like it as well. After few dishes, it is time for green food. Sauteed Toumiao Veggies with Garlic. Nice green color, great texture, vegetable taste crispy and it absolutely good seasoning. 

    Last main course is Boiled Chicken Chopped. I am not really impressed with this one. Not interesting color of meat while i expected white meat as menu offering. and some skin got a feathers left and meat taste just fine even bit overcooked. Over all, Central Kitchen does serving good foods, i may feels the Chinese ambience by it place and dishes. Many flavor and seasoning gave a pleasure of cuisines. For family lunch or dinner gathering, this restaurant absolutely recommended.
