3.4Baby Dutch Pancake [ Pantai Indah Kapuk, Kafe ]
Babydutch
Honestly foods were just decent despite the hype, surprisingly rosti>pancake for me.
Kudos for the service though, very gercep in anticipating the guests’ needs (e.g preparing sharing plates before we asked, telling us about the tea being shareable for 2, etc.).
Pistachio (65k) 5/10
Thin, crispy pancakes with chocolate sauce, pistachio crumbs, and vanilla ice cream. Not a fan of the pancake texture itself, as the edges were burnt. Pretty sure I got an over-baked one.
Beef Stroganoff Rosti (59k) 6.5/10
Rosti itself was very good (like 8/10 for the 🥔). Crispy outside but soft inside. Unfortunately the variant I chose was pretty bad, beef was very tough and the stroganoff was bland. We ended up mostly eating the rosti on its own.Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

4.0Early March [ Cilandak, Kafe ]
Early March Citos
French Dip (125k) 7.5/10
Unexpectedly prefer this vs the ox pastrami, as the rare roast beef really shone through in combination with the au jus (even if some meat parts were a bit tough). Baguette, like pretty much all breads ordered at Early March, was quite hard from being over toasted. Love the crispy onions as well!
Profiteroles (70k) 8.5/10
The other must have after the ricotta. Love the profiteroles with nutty-savoury pistachio ice cream and dark chocolate sauce. Again, similar to Roma’s bigne but tastier and more affordable.
Sticky Vanilla Date Pudding (60k) 8/10
Moist and buttery pudding with nice caramelisation and burnt sugar notes in their sauce. Wish they gave more vanilla ice cream as the pudding was very sweet on its own. Very good but I slightly prefer Loewy’s toffee pudding.
Spaghetti (95k) 6/10
Vongole with a twist. A polarising dish since the flavour was definitely bold from the crustacean butter and chives, however the clams were somewhat fishy. Would get this if you are a massive seafood lover, otherwise the smell might be a bit much.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

4.0Early March [ Gandaria, Kafe ]
Early March Gancit
Early March in early March. It’s quite rare for me to like so many dishes from one place so will definitely go back. On the other hand, both americano and manual brew were both very acidic and over-extracted so personally wouldn’t recommend the coffee.
Whipped Ricotta (85k) 8.5/10
Can’t go wrong with honey and ricotta combo. The truffle was mild but still noticeable. Dare I say better than Roma’s (and cheaper too!)? Only con was sourdough too toasty and hard, it was quite tough to chew😟.
Loaded Birria Nachos (85k) 8.5/10
The most legit birria finding yet!Consome and avocado crema were rich snd tacos themselves were bursting with flavour. Loaded with juicy meats and very cheesy.
Ox Tongue Pastrami Reuben (150k) 7/10
The ox tongue got slightly overpowered by the Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and pickles, I think I prefer normal pastrami vs the ox tongue (too soft in texture). Prefer P&S version of this, as they had more reuben and sauce. The fries were excellent though.
Ricotta & Matcha Melted Cheesecake (70k) 5/10
It’s strange? Something about the warm, almost eggy, cheesecake combo just didn’t work with me. The matcha sauce was really hard to pick up and didn’t really go with the cheesecake.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

4.0NAMELAKA [ Kelapa Gading, Toko Kue,Kafe ]
Namelaka
Pistachio Tiramisu (90k) 9/10
Went all the way from West Jakarta to Kelapa Gading for this🤧. Love how bold the pistachio flavour was. Pretty perfect but could do with more texture (chopped pistachio perhaps?) as the mascarpone layer was very thick vs the ladyfinger.
Hot Chocolate: Cacao Barry Blend (50k) and Guayaquil (45k) 9.5/10
Current favourite chocolate in town, very thick and rich. They have range of different chocolate selection. We chose the sweeter versions but they both still had a nice bitterness to it. The barry blend had a hazelnut undertone whereas the guayaquil was more acidic.
Blossom Entremet (60k) 7.5/10
A cny special. Unique combination of oolong tea and white peach. Really light on the palate and refreshing. The jelly and jam layers add nice zestiness.
Strawberry Black Tea (38k) 7/10
This one was pretty okay, bold black tea flavour with refreshing strawberry slices. Good option if you want lighter drink.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

4.0NAMELAKA [ Menteng, Toko Kue ]
Namelaka
Blue Cheese & Pear (22.5k) 8/10
Still one of my fav choux in town and the blue cheese paired well with the pear. Sweet, salty, tangy, and creamy in one bite.
Blossom Entremet (60k) 7.5/10
A cny special. Unique combination of oolong tea and white peach. Really light on the palate and refreshing. The jelly and jam layers add nice zestiness.
Golden Baileys (60k) 6.5/10
Quite standard mix of flavours: milk & dark chocolate plus baileys put together in different layers of cream, mousse, and cake. Can’t imagine people disliking this but at the same time it’s kinda boring?Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.1 pembaca berterima kasih.

4.0Devon Cafe [ Pantai Indah Kapuk, Kafe ]
Sydney Brunch
Newish cafe at PIK golf range, a franchisee of a Sydney cafe with the same name. Different management and menu selection vs the branch at Senayan City. Overall, satisfied with the foods and ambiance. Portions are on the bigger side so be mindful when ordering.
Breakfast with the Sakuma’s (185k) 8/10
Massive salmon fillet with crispy outside with moist pink inside. Eel croquette was a nice substitute for more traditional carbs. Nicely executed concept, no wonder it’s Devon most iconic dish. Very hearty brunch for sure.
Truffle Mushroom & Gruyere (155k) 7/10
For best enjoyment you need to eat this immediately as the edges only stayed crispy while it was piping hot. Love how they weigh out the portion for each ingredients to ensure quality remains consistent. Very cheesy and mushroom were nicely seasoned. Enjoyment factor decreases once it cools though.
Lamington (65k) 7.5/10
Got so excited when I saw this😆! As an 🇦🇺graduate sometimes I have nostalgia about lamington, which is a simple vanilla sponge cake with jam in the middle, coated with chocolate and desiccated coconut. It’s not perfect, since the jam could be more sour and the coconut flakes were definitely too big, still it’s more than satisfactory to satisfy my craving.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

3.2Juni Bar & Lounge [ Cikini, Barat ]
Juni
Finally crossing off Juni from my bucket list. Came here for the pistachio lava cake and it surely delivered! The rest was pretty average.
Pistachio Lava Cake 9.5/10
Massive love for this cake❤️. If only Juni isn’t so far away I would go back routinely for this. Rich molten pistachio with generous amount of crumble, drizzle of chocolate sauce and plenty of vanilla ice cream to provide contrasting sensation.
Truffle Cheeseburger (145k) 6.5/10
Pretty good burger, truffle pretty subtle but the aioli was yummy. The caramelised onion and mushroom gave the burger an extra oomph, however I do feel like some veggies would help balanced out the greasiness. Fries were okay.
Crispy Calamari (70k) 5/0
Batter was supposed to have chipotle seasoning but it was pretty bland. You had to dip it to the tartar or chili sauce for flavour.
Ice Purple Coffee (60k) 5/10
Basically a typical latte mixed with taro powder for nice purple colour. Pretty disappointing, once mixed in I couldn’t taste the taro at all.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

4.0Scarlett's Cafe [ Senopati, Kafe ]
Scarlett 2nd Branch
Second visit to Scarlett, this time visiting the Senopati branch.
Mixed Berries Pistachio Tart (65k) 9/10
Best dessert in Scarlett❤️ with perfect combination of nuttiness, sweet, and sour balance. Pistachio paste was legit🙌🏻, mixed with sweet strawberries and buttery crust. Very nice textural components with creamy pistachio, crispy tart, and fresh fruits.
Hazelnut Earl Grey Tart (60k) 8.5/10
Predominantly earl grey vs hazelnut, though you do have the hazelnut layer on top. Love fragrant the earl grey was and how they layer the tart base with chocolate to keep the base crunchy and crumbly.
Turkish Egg (68k) 8/10
Compared to other turkish egg I’ve tried (NOB and Pison) this one is the most mild in flavour. There’s minimum heat as the chili flakes were balanced with honey and garlic. I personally would have preferred toasted sourdough vs baguette.
Salmon & Remoulade Sandwich (72k) 5/10
It’s an okay dish. Not something I would reorder as the mayo in the remoulade made the dish too heavy after a while.
Black Sesame Ice Latte (48k) 6.5/10
The black sesame layer was nice but once you mix them it the sesame faded to the background. Coffee was pretty weak and the drink was very sweet, I ended up unable to finish this. I prefer the pistachio latte over this as you have stronger pistachio flavour.
Matcha Spirulina (42k) 6/10
Taste pretty much like normal matcha as we couldn’t really taste the spirulina. The spirulina was pretty much just for aesthetic purpose. As with other Scarlett’s drink, this was also too sweet for me.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.1 pembaca berterima kasih.

4.0Queen's Tandoor [ Thamrin, India ]
Authentic Indian Resto
Queen’s Tandoor has been on my wish list for a while since many people deem it to be the OG Indian place in Jakarta. Definitely worth to try as the dishes were affordable and taste authentic. Vegan/vegetarian friendly as well. Best part is definitely their complimentary papadum (refillable btw)
Dal Tadka (90k) 7/10
Lentil based curry. Quite fragrant spices and nice smokiness coming through. Texture is very mushy so do eat this with naan/roti/other flat bread.
Palak Paneer (115k) 8.5/10
I may be biased since palak paneer is my favourite type of curry, but this was really good. The palak gravy was nicely thickened and felt quite creamy (maybe they added cream?)
Pani Puri (75k) 8/10
A staple go to appetiser at Indian resto. Bite sized crispy ball filled with chickpeas, meant to be filled by the tamarind water. The sour spicy water was really refreshing.
Aloo Ghobi (90k) 6/10
Cauliflower, bellpepper, and potato with tumeric, cumin, and coriander. It’s an okay sides, quite flavourful and good way to get some veggies in.
Dabbawala Chicken (135k) 6.5/10
My brother was still hungry after everything and got this. Pretty good option for lunch as you get butter chicken, briyani rice, plain naan, and gulab jamun. The butter chicken was pretty nice. Portion was massive.
Cheese Naan (50k) 7/10 and Butter Naan (35k) 5/10
Very chewy and generous with the cheese. Personally couldn’t really taste the butter in the naan but it’s good for those wanting something simpler.
Salted Lassi (65k) and Strawberry Lassi (65k)
Not a fan of salted lassi since to me it’s a bit of strange concept having savoury drink. The strawberry lassi is worth a try though, very tangy and refreshing with nice sweet-sour balance. These are quite filling.
Masala Chai (45k) 2/10
Too watery and not spiced enough. Skip.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.

3.0Cook's [ Senopati, Barat ]
Cooks
One of the more affordable fine dining option in town. Set menu costs 475/pax and you got 5 courses. Additional ala carte options available. Dishes were on the smaller side, I remember leaving somewhat hungry.
1st: Bread and Butter (7/10)
Brioche with butter. Butter was bomb, very rich and flavourful, brioche was just okay (wish it was crispier).
2nd: Ricotta Tomato (7/10)
Whipped ricotta with tomato. Liked how the mint basil added another layer to the dish.
3rd: Warm Soup (8/10)
Zucchini soup with evoo and chili flakes on top. Surprisingly my fav dish of the night. Soup was smooth and luscious. The chicken stock really gave the soup tons of flavour.
4th:
Crablio (6/10)
The fresh pasta somehow taste like bakmi😅? Similar to aglio olio but Asian influenced (the rawit, wonton chips, etc.). Sauce was soupy for some reason.
Or
Butcher’s Bolo (N/A)
My friends’ 4th course pick. Didn’t try but they said it was pretty good. Sauce was supposed to resemble bolognese. Both said that highlight was the bechamel sauce.
5th:
Filo Choco Berry (6.5/10)
Filo pastry with chocolate diplomat and strawberry. Very safe dessert combo right here. Can’t go wrong ordering this but nothing stood out to me.
Or
Key Lime & Soursop (N/A)
The other dessert option. None tried this as we all chose the filo choco.
Overall, I expected more from the rave reviews I saw on ig. It was enjoyable and I appreciated the creativity in giving local twists to the dishes. Unfortunately they didn’t really align with my tastebuds.
Service wise, it was pretty slow, there were noticeable breaks in between courses (understandable since resto was packed and everything was prepared directly in the open kitchen) but it’s something to keep in mind if you are hungry.Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000Makasih Infonya!Kamu belum login, klik di sini.1 pembaca berterima kasih.
