    Unique eggs benedict

    First time tried @erickayserid at Plaza Senayan since I'd already heard that this resto has a nice food. Ordered their Egg's Benedict that came out to be unique, despite being served on english muffin, they used croissant as the base layer. And it turned out to be a really really good benedict, I could say this one is the best eggs benedict I've ever tried. The bacon was so delicious yet the poached egg was perfect and the croissant was crunchy. Also my partner ordered chicken cordon bleu which turned out to be good also. This is my first time trying to capture a glow in the dark picture, and I was satisfied enough with the result. Will come here again to try the other menu next time ☺

    Benedict [ Thamrin, Kafe ]

    Kingdom of Eggs Benedict

    Benedict is said to have the best Egg's Benedict in Jakarta. Came here a couple weeks ago since I am a big fan of Eggs Benedict. Tried to order a plate of Classic Benedict (85k) and also Pork Belly Benedict (90k). The Classic Benedict came with 2 Eggs Benedict consisted of English Muffin, Ham, Poached Eggs, and Classic Hollandaise Sauce also served with fried potato as a side. It tasted really good, the combination made it perfect and the potato was also really really good for me. The Pork Belly Benedict came with a more unique way, the patty itself was made using a deep fried mac n cheese, also it came with pork belly, bacon, and also Green Hollandaise Sauce. I can reccomend this if you're a fan of Benedict, it has a stronger flavour rather than the classic one, and also if you like pork belly you're gonna love this (but since I dislike pork belly, I just gave it a few bites), but the only downside is the bacon was too salty for me maybe because it was a cured bacon. Overall had a good experience at @benedictjakarta, will come here again if I'm craving for another Eggs Benedict.

    Fuwa Fuwa World [ Slipi, Toko Kue ]

    japanese cheesecakeee

    Already curious about that fluffy Japanese Cheesecake, so I decided to order it from Fuwa Fuwa World via Go-Food, after waiting at least 1 hour it finally came. The box itself was so cuteee~, I opened it up and there you go, a big round fluffy Japanese cheesecake was inside the box. When sliced through it, I could feel how moist it was and when I took my first bite it instantly melted inside my mouth like eating a sponge. So moist and delicious! will try their cheesetart next time since they said it is good also

    Fat Straw [ Pantai Indah Kapuk, Bubble Tea ]

    Unique Boba Shop

    Fat Straw has been known as a unique honey boba store located at PIK Area. Instead of serving on a normal glass, they tend to use a fat glass to serve your drink, thats why the name of the store is called Fat Straw. The interior isn't so spacious, but has a unique yellow chic ambience with some of their signature drinks drawing drawn on the wall. Ordered their Strawberry milk drink (29k), first I thought it will be very sweet but it turned out to be not too sweet, just perfect. The milk and strawberry combination are just really good, accompanied with boba and pudding as toppings. I would like to reccomend this place  if you're searching for an antimainstream boba drink or just maybe for hanging out with ur friends.

    Ikkudo Ichi [ Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jepang ]

    A humble bowl of ramen

    A humble bowl of Signature Buta Ramen, who can even resist that? @ikkudoichi has been a very popular ramen shop in Jakarta. I came here around 5 years ago and still couldn't forget the flavour. The richness of the broth that is cooked for a long time, a firm noodle, a slice of delicious pork chasiu, a flavourful ajitsuke tamago, negi, and mushroom...what a perfect combination. You can also try to add minced garlic, shoyu, and also chili oil for extra richness. Try it and you won't regret.

    Amuz [ SCBD, Perancis ]

    Romantic and Elegant French Fine DIning

    Known as the fanciest fine dining in Jakarta that specialized in Contemporary French Cuisine. Helmed by Chef Gilles Marx, AMUZ has won a lot of achievement from both local and international awards.

    I've been waited and planned to dine here a long time ago, and finally I decided to visit AMUZ while celebrating my birthday also. The services was very good which the waiter and waitress greeted with a smile and they did explain the dishes served so we could understand what component does the dish had.

    Ordered 2 package of 6 course degustation menu and 2 bottle of Still Water. The menu will be described below :

    - Welcome bread (9/10): a warm freshly baked bread consisted of Ciabatta, Wholewheat bread, Mini baguette, and 2 slice of Sourdough bread served with cold butter and olive oil. The ciabatta was so soft that make me feels like I'm eating a chinese bun. The croissant was so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Dipped with olive oil and spread with butter...perfect.

    - Amuse Bouche Mushroom Cappuccino (9/10) : a small cup of warm mushroom soup served with cheese gougere. A light and tasty dish for elevate my appetite.

    - Appetizer 1 Seared Large White Asparagus (6/10) : a combination of white asparagus, hollandaise sauce, truffle jus, and poached egg. White asparagus was sweet and delicate, with a little bitter aftertaste. But the combination doesn't really suit me. But it's still good enough.

    - Appetizer 2a Freshly Shaved Black Summer Truffle (9/10) : shaved black summer truffle on the top of angel hair pasta in light cream. The cream was light enough and the truffle aroma doesn't overpowered the dish. Combined with Angel Hair Pasta, an amazing combination.

    - Appetizer 2b Pan Seared Duck Liver Foie Gras (10/10) : this dish was outstanding! I've never liked Foie Gras before because of it's weird taste. But in the hand of Chef Gilles, this foie gras turned out to be a masterpiece. Foie gras combined with orange sorbet and orange skin, I doubted it for the first time, but once I tasted it, it tasted amazing. The cold orange sorbet eliminated the weird taste of foie gras, and the texture of foie gras which melts into your mouth, so perfect.

    - Main Course 1 Baked Pacific Coral Grouper Fillet (9/10) : pan fried fish fillet served with lemon froth, echalote au bouillon, lemon confit vinaigrette, and sun dried tomato. Fish was so fresh and delicate, the combination with lemon sauce made it super tasty.

    - Main Course 2 Grilled Black Angus Grain Fed Beef Sirloin (7/10) : grilled black angus sirloin served with mashed potato, spring vegetable, and bordelaise sauce. The meat is a little bit chewy as it is a black angus. Mashed potato and bordelaise sauce tasted good, but the spring vegetable is lacking of flavor and it got a little cut of radish on it which I don't really like.

    - Pre Dessert Yoghurt Cream (9/10) : a frozen yoghurt served with clotted cream, strawberry coulis, and fresh strawberry. A light dessert to clean my palette, a very good combination of sour from yoghurt and sweet from cream.

    - Dessert 1 Classic Valrhona Chocolate Souffle (9/10) : a warm chocolate souffle with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. Souffle was so soft and delicious at the same time. Beautiful.

    - Dessert 2 Light Coconut Cream Mousse (10/10) : the best presentation so far, served with mango jelly, mango salsa, and tuile. This dessert was probably the best I've tasted so far. It was so soft and creamy with mango and coconut flavor, with a crunch of crispy tuile on top of it. So good, so beautiful, so perfect.

    - Complimentary Birthday Cake : since I was on birthday I was given a complimentary chocolate birthday cake from AMUZ. But since I'd been so full, I decided to take it home. But I sill haven't got my time to try it, so it is still kept inside the fridge now.

    Overall it was an amazing experience. The food was outstanding, the service was great, and finally I could meet Chef Gilles himself. He is so kind and allowed me to take a picture with him and gave his autograph to me. Wow I was so happy that night. I definitely will come again to AMUZ to try the other signature dishes by Chef Gilles especially the Grilled Wagyu Tenderloin 9+ in Cabernet Barrel Oak Fog.

    Turkuaz [ Senopati, Arab/Timur Tengah ]

    An authentic Turkish experience

    Turkuaz is a restaurant located in Senopati area that specialized in Authentic Ottoman Turkish Cuisine. Led by Iron Chef Sezao Zorlu, this restaurant is ready to tease your tastebuds and bring you right into Turkey.

    When I came into the restaurant, the interior resembles a Turkish home. With a lot of Turkish ornaments and carpets on the display. Here's what I ordered :

    - Tavuklu Muska Boregi : Olive oil fried rolled vegetable and chicken in phyllos. Phyllos pastry was crunchy, with a delicious spiced chicken and vegetable within it. A very good appetizer to start the turkish journey.

    Sade Doner : Shaved doner kebab, Sumack Onion Salad, with Lavas Ekmegi bread. 
    This is literally the all in one dishes. Salty, sourness, freshness, and spices are all combined together. Shaved doner kebab was made with smoked lamb meat, it was very tender and flavorful. While the sumack onion was sour and fresh with the chopped mint leaves within it. Paired with Lavas Ekmegi the puffy bread, it will become a great combination with a balance flavor of saltiness, sourness, freshness, and spiciness.

    - Burgul Pilavi : Village style cooked burgul with onion and spices. Actually this dish tasted like a normal rice, but the texture and size were different. The size was like a tiny ball and the texture was a little bit softer than usual rice. This dish is best paired together as an additional with Kebab dishes such as Sade Doner that I ordered.
     
    - Baklava platter : a platter consists of 3 baklavas, you can choose any baklavas on the display next to the cashier. This time I ordered Klasik Antep Fistikli Baklava (Classic Pistachio Baklava), Cukulatali Findikli Baklava (Chocolate Nut Baklava), and Sutlu Nuriye Baklava (Almond Baklava with Milk). Baklava is a signature dessert originated from Turkey, and it has a very very sweet flavor. Actually I dislike sweet foods, but why I love this? Because once you chew the Baklava, the sweetness doesn't strike directly to your throat. The sweetness will rotate together in your mouth with the fragrant pistachio and the crunchiness of the pastry, creating an harmonious flavor.

    - Chocolate Turkish Ice Cream : probably the most unique ice cream you will find, usually this ice cream is popular for trolling people as seen mostly on Youtube videos. But sadly, Turkuaz doesn't provide any ice cream performance here. The unique point that differs this ice cream is the mozzarella like texture, when you scoop the ice cream with your spoon, you will notice that the ice cream is kinda rubbery. And when you put it in your mouth, it feels like you are eating ice cream with mozzarella XD. 

    - Elma Cayi : Turkish Apple Tea, this tea is different than any other tea that I've ever tried. It has a strong aroma of apple, when I slurp it...yes the apple taste was so strong, with a sweet and sour aftertaste. It's like I'm drinking a combination of Apple Cider Vinegar + Honey + Black Tea. But even this tea is unique, I kinda fall in love with it.

    Overall Turkuaz was such a great restaurant serving a Turkish cuisine. Even though, Turkish cuisine was still new to me, but this restaurant has proven it that I can enjoy Turkish cuisine at its finest. I definitely will come back to this restaurant, and hope that I can meet Chef Sezai one day.

    Amausaan Uji Matcha [ Slipi, Dessert ]

    Tea in a Zen Atmosphere interior

    After a hectic day working in my office, I decided to have a cup of tea with a Japanese ambience. So I decided to come to Amausaan Uji Matcha, a Japanese traditional little shop serving everything about matcha. 

    Ordered their Okayama White Peach Oolong Tea which was imported directly from Japan. They served it on a Japanese ceramic teapot and teacup which made it feel like I was in Japan at that time. The tea was fragrant yet calming, the peach didn't overpower the tea yet it gives a soothing sensation to my mouth. Also for the plus point, the tea can be refilled and costed me only for 39k which was really worth a penny.

    Bottlenose Shack [ Slipi, Kafe ]

    Place for Croffles

    Got a 50k discount coupon from PergiKuliner, so I gave it a try. This cafe is located at Tribeca building, the one in front of Central Park mall irself. From outside, this cafe looked so cozy, the cafe itself isn't really spacious tho as it's quite narrow with a big tree in the middle of the cafe. They also have an outdoor area that looks cool for chilling and hangout.

    Ordered their London Fog Croffles, which turned out to be really delicious. It consisted of 2 pieces of Croffles (Croissant Waffles), a scoop of vanilla ice cream, granola seed, a slice of fruit compote (I still wonder what fruit it was, was it a peach or persimmon?), and of course the London fog sauce which made from Earl Grey Tea combined with Maple syrup. It was so so good.

    Also ordered their Chamomile Tea which they used JING brand as their choice of tea. As I expected, every tea from JING does give a smooth and calming sensation as it is light and fragrant at the same time.

    Will come back to this cafe next time to try their other croffles (especially the savory one) :3

    Itacho Sushi [ Thamrin, Jepang ]

    Sushi time

    So today I got an invitation from my Japanese class to try Itacho Sushi. Ordered their Grilled Salmon with Tobiko Spicy Mayo set (served with Miso soup and salad), the rice they used is sushi rice which is sticky and delicate, with a half grilled fresh salmon combined with tobiko spicy mayo and sweet inari (tofu), I will say that this dish is a very good one.
    Beside of that, they also give us a live sushi show in which they teach us how to make sushi by ourselves from salmon nigiri, tamagoyaki nigiri, and tobiko gunkan. They also give us a free flow ocha (hot/cold) and also free ice cream as dessert.
    I tried some of my friend's dishes in which I find it good, although some of them are slightly underseasoned (need to put a little bit more salt) but is still forgiveable.
    Overall today experience is good, with delicious dishes and live sushi show. Will try to come back someday to try the other dishes.
