Are you a tea lover? So do not miss this one place. Chatelier, located at PIK, offers space for true tea lovers.
First of all, thank you Chatelier for hosting a gathering for me and my foodie friends and showed us the process of serving tea directly taught by an tea expert, Mr. Tanaka. We had so much fun and got a lot of experience for sure!
The place was very comfortable and the lighting was nice. Loved the atmosphere, and impressed with the simple decoration and homey environment. This place consists of two floors.
This place specializes in tea of various types and various flavors. Chatelier provides tea from Japan, China and Southeast Asia including Indonesia. I also had the opportunity to see the process of serving the tea, learn directly from the expert, discussing tea and tasting several kinds of tea. If you are curious or indeed like tea, Chatelier is highly recommended for you to to be able to enjoy tea made and served properly at a reasonable price.
Here are some teas available here, starting from Black Tea, Green Tea, White Tea, Raw-Pu-erh, Ripe Pu-erh, Oolong Tea and Flower Tea.
I had the opportunity to try one type of tea here called Silver Needle which was included in the type of white tea.
Take a sip, and you will feel the smooth tea liquid carrying a strong fragrance scent traveling down to your throat. The aftertaste comes quick, and will leave a long lasting tender aroma in your mouth.
For the food, there are some best sellers foods that are served, such as :
Quinoa Healthy Salad (68K)
The menu consists of quinoa, almond, cranberry, lemon, kale, and apple. This healthy salad is fresh and delicious! That's perfect for entertaining.
Cheese & Bacon Truffle Fries (58K)
Truffle cheese fries with bacon, once again a really great tasting dish and a good sized portion. With cheese, truffles and bacon, what the hell is there not to like.
Lava Salmon Skin (48K)
As a starter, we were served with the incredibly addictive lava salmon skin. Salmon skin here was different then elsewhere as it was cooked with salted egg yolk sauce. Salted egg yolks seemed to be the trend lately, but this one dish, was probably one of the most addictive one I’ve tried. The salmon skin was extra crispy, and the egg yolk sauce, which can be too rich, was perfectly balanced.
Crispy Enoki (28K)
Enoki fried dried mushrooms really succeeded in raising our appetite on the tongue.
Buddha Bowl - Vegetarian (108K)
The Buddha bowl was one variation of the concept of bowl food, a concept of combining a batch of nutritious healthy food in a bowl. The Buddha bowl dish is usually made from cereals (grains) such as kinoa (quinoa) and green vegetables, and then other ingredients such as mushrooms, onions, nuts and seeds. This was one awesome Buddha Bowl! I actually didn't know what to expect with it, but loved everything about it! So many favorite parts in this bowl!
Gyu Teriyaki Don (68K)
This Gyu Teriyaki Don is a white rice served along with a savory beef tongue cooked with Teriyaki sauce and also there are half-cooked eggs and mushrooms as its toppings. Although I did not try this menu, but from the appearance already seductive, believe the taste must be sweet, savory and guaranteed delicious!
Hokkien Mee Sua (78K)
Never really a fan of mee sua (Hokkien dialect of flour rice noodle) but the taste of Hokkien Mee Sua from Chatelier was really very good, the mee sua was smooth and well braised. I also like the tender pork belly slices and the taste was great! Worth a try!
Earl Grey-Infused Fried Rice (68K)
It perfectly balanced the richness of the pork belly and looked stunning on the plate. The earl grey tea added a lovely background flavour to the rice. I really liked the smell of earl grey tea that made this fried rice more fragrant.
Hainanese Chicken Tea - Infused Rice (68K)
Fragrant, rich in spice this Hainan Rice flavour is awesome. This Hainan Rice is the most fluffiest I've ever tasted! The fragrant is really natural, it's so rich and fresh! It's heavenly!
Look at that big clean chunk of chicken, looks delicious doesn't it? And it is! The taste is really the same as the photos, really delicious. The chicken is marinated with a mixture of garlic and galangal which tasted rather salty, but when it's eaten with chicken, the taste was so perfect. Broth and chili sauce were equally delicious! One of the menus that is a must try at Chatelier!
Penang Char Kway Teow (48K)
Penang Char Kway Teow also known as Fried Kway Teow is one of the most popular dishes. You could be melted away by this mixture of stir-fried kway teow with eggs, lap cheong (chinese sausages), bean sprouts, and shrimp. Loved their lap cheong, tasted so good and sweet.
Traditional Oxtail Soup (98K)
The oxtail meat in the original soup is much more tender and the soup as a whole retains more of the meat flavor. Overall, I like this menu!
Overall, Chatelier Tea serves lovely tea and food with lots of selection. It could be a nice and new option to chill and relax.
