Blacklisted [ Pondok Indah, Barat ]

    Black it out

Went here Monday night and the place was pretty deserted, only three tables were occupied.

    Food and beverages: 4/5
I had mushroom soup and lychee iced tea. Both were good and tasted about right. The mushroom soup was thick in consistency, savory, and had truffle oil dressing that went so well with the whole soup. It also came with a nicely seasoned slice of garlic bread. Lychee iced tea was nice, not too sweet, and the lychee given was moderate (3 pieces).

    Price: 4.5/5
Food was worth the price. Not that pricey. Suitable for students.

    Ambience: 4/5
The place was dimly lit and as the name says, the majority of the place is black. I sat on the smoking area in the corner since the only available charging spot is around the corners. Cozy enough to do your assignment or work since the music wasn't loud at all. When I came here they played Charlie Puth's album on repeat, so the only thing I suggest for this place is to have multiple playlist so the customers won't get bored. All in all it was a very decent place.

    Service: 4/5
The waitress was friendly but not that attentive, I had to go out to the non smoking area (where the cashier was) just to call the waitress when I wanted to order. i was a bit shocked when they closed the bill at 9.30 and last order was at 9 although it closes at 10.

Highlight: price is not expensive for a great taste! Mushroom soup is pretty decent!

Menu yang dipesan: Mushroom Soup, Iced Lychee Tea

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000

Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen [ Kuningan, Kafe ]

    Photogenic Coffee Spot

I went here with my family and boyfriend since it’s my last night in Jakarta before studying abroad and this place landed my choice. Why? It’s a relatively new place with very nice interior that offers round-the-clock service (opens 24h). Just the type of place I was looking for where I could care less about time. This place is located in Plaza Festival (right next to Bakmi GM).

    Food and beverage: 3.5/5
I ordered quite a lot since I was here from 8 til midnight. Let me start out by saying if you’re here to eat super-delish, great lunch or dinner, this is NOT the place. I initially wanted to order the famous nutella drink but they ran out of ice cream. So what we had:
    - Vanilla Latte & Caramel Latte: both are so-so. Tasted like regular lattes, neither bad nor great.
    - Lychee Iced Tea: you can barely taste the lychee since they only put one lychee fruit. One. Too many ice, the longer you let it sit, the more tasteless it will be.
    - Iced Lemon Tea: very sour, too much lemon.
    - Fried Calamari: squid was cooked right, although you have to eat it in one bite or else it would be chewy and the crispy coating will just shatter. Tartar sauce was spot on. 👍🏻
    - Caesar’s Salad: vegetables were so fresh (still had the crisp to it), bacon was savory, cheese was given at the right amount but the chicken meat were little and small and the bread is so thick it was hard to eat.
    - Nasi Lemak: if you’re hungry, I suggest you order this one since the portion is so big. It’s a malaysian signature dish and it tasted like Nasi Uduk. Chicken was tender and emping was not bitter. Seasoned right but nothing special.
    - Potato Wedges: regular cut tomato wedges with grated cheese. Salty! Great for light snacks.
    - Aglio Olio with Salmon and Olive: seasoned perfectly although it came on small portion. Savory down to the last bite. Bread that came along with it was barely edible.
    - Cassava Chips: basically fried singkong with cheese. Had the same taste as potato wedges, the difference is only the main ingredient: cassava instead of potato.
    - Tiramisu Cake: so so so good. The texture is soft and it just melts in your mouth. Top layer had cocoa powder that combines so well with the creamy layer under it and the chocolate ones at the bottom. Must try this for dessert.

    Pricing: 4/5
Let me start out by saying it’s the place where you come for the vibes not the food. Quite pricey for coffee and dishes that tasted regular but I guess you pay for the ambience here.

    Ambience: 4.5/5
It is very easy to spot this place. A white building that stands out with its white paint and black bold writing, catchy on the eyes. When you come inside, the cashier where you order will be on your right alongside the kitchen and bread/desert display windows. On one of the table, free lemonade drink will be waiting for you. Once you walk in, you will notice the great centrepiece which is a huge tree located by the stairs that will lead you to the second story (small round marble tables, single chairs by the wooden table overlooking the first story, and smoking room). Bathroom is located on the left side of the stairs (even the bathroom had nice interior). First floor is addressed for large groups since it has large wooden tables (non smoking). By the main wooden table, there hung a dear-head ornament. On the second floor there are non smoking area (the one with marble tables) and smoking area (outside the door). If you’re going to the second floor, I suggest you take the singles chair as it provides a clear view of the whole restaurant (and its photogenic, instagram worthy setting). When you come here, you have to order on the cashier then take your seat. The only bad thing is the place is so crowded but designed to fit so little. If they could expand, I’m sure it would be such a great plus. Go here on a weekday if possible because the place are usually full on weekends. Oh and they have marvelous lighting! Perfect selfie/photograph setting.

    Service: 3/5
Since it was so crowded, all the waiters got their hands full and not once I see them smile or being friendly (except the one on the cashier). They put our dishes on the table loudly and recklessly til it made a “clang” sound and even then they did not seem to care. They just scurried down to deliver another order. Seemed so eager to finish their shifts.

Highlight: I can’t stress how photogenic this place is. The decorations are just divine with the right amount and setting of light both day and night. Taking a picture here is almost compulsory. Fried calamari and tiramisu were the winners. Best part: opens every single second of the day. Perfect place to just chill and hangout or even do your work. 👍🏻

Menu yang dipesan: Vanilla latte, Caramel Latte, Iced Lychee Tea, Iced Lemon Tea, Fresh Cut & Organic Potato Fries, Aglio Olio, Tiramisu, Lychee Iced Tea, Deep Fried Calamari, Caesar Salad, Nasi Lemak Malaca, fried cassava

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000

    Carl's Jr. [ Lebak Bulus, Barat ]

    Scrumptious Burger

My boyfriend and I went to the booth in South Quarter last Saturday. South Quarter is located near Mayapada Hospital and the restaurants are in the lower ground.

    Food and beverages: 4.5/5
We had Western Beefbag, Famous Star (with side dish of french fries), and refillable medium sized drink. Both were satisfyingly big in portion, truly fulfilling. Western beefbag came with beef bacon, hamburg meat with cheese, and crispy little hash browns. Beef bacon was tasteful, the sauce went very well with the burger, cheese was moderate, but the fun part was the crispy has browns. Definitely a winner burger. Famous star had hamburg meat with cheese and salad, it was basically a basic burger although it tasted great nevertheless. Both meat were juicy, soft, and well-seasoned. Buns were tender. We filled our own drinks by the cashier and there were many choices. We finally settled on lemon tea. Refreshing, went well with the food.

    Price: 4/5
A little bit pricey for a burger but if you compare with other burger booths such as burger king, Carl's Jr. has standard pricing. Burger was worth the cash.

    Ambience: 4/5
The restaurant had sofa settings with minimal distinctive decorations. Since I came here on a weekend, the place is pretty much deserted though there was some kind of a band performing nearby and it was loud and bothersome.

    Service: 4/5
The waitress was friendly but she seemed like she's eager to finish her shift haha.

    Highlight: Western Beefbag burger!

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000

Ikkudo Ichi [ Thamrin, Jepang ]

    Tori Kara Ramen

Came here cause I've been craving for ramen for God knows how long and lot of my friends have recommended me to come here. When I came here I was waitlisted (this place is always full) but not for long because I asked for only two people.

    Food and beverages: 4.5/5
One of the best ramens I've ever tasted. I ordered Ikkudo's Tori Kara (small noodle), Tori Curry (curly noodle), and Rai Cha (cold ocha). Tori Kara was great and savory although it's quite spicy so if you're not that into spicy dishes, I suggest you steer clear of this. The seasoning was great but it was overpowered by the spiciness. Tori Curry smelled like Indomie Kari Ayam, nevertheless it was also great and savory. The broth was so good my boyfriend ordered extra noodle for this dish. The noodle was cooked to perfection (not too mushy, not too hard) but the best part was undoubtedly the egg. It was soft but the yolk still stayed put with the white. The egg came in full portion and it just melted in your mouth bite after bite. The word delicious doesn't even cover it. Rai cha was bottomless and fresh.

    Price: 4/5
Standard pricing for ramen noodles. Worth the food.

    Ambience: 4/5
This place is always crowded and noisy due to everyone chattering at the same time. Easy to spot (next to Foodhall) but could use a bigger space.

    Service: 3/5
When I came here I think some of the waiters/waitresses were trainees since they can't even tell the dishes they bring. They brought the wrong dish for the table next to mine and seemed a little bit disoriented and confused. They were attentive but you have to speak louder for them to catch your attention 'cause the place is very loud.

Highlight: Tori Kara (esp. the egg)!

Menu yang dipesan: Tori/Buta Curry, Tori/Buta Kara Miso

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000
    Makasih Infonya!

    Fish & Co. [ SCBD, Barat ]

    Telkomsel discount

If you're a telkomsel user, you may receive a text message offering you a promo for the dish here. That's one of the main reasons I went here.

    Food and beverages: 4.5/5
I personally love fish (especially Dory fish) and by far, this restaurant serves the best fish-and-chips dishes in town. I ordered the Bali Fish and Chips with a side of mashed potato, soup of the day, english breakfast tea, and passionfruit drink. The fish was fried to golden perfection, had enough crispiness to it but still managed to be very soft and tender on the inside. The seasoning (Bali) is a little spicy and quite heavy on the garlic. Mashed potato was seasoned perfectly although it was a bit mushy. If you're not a big-eater, this portion can satisfy two tummies. Soup of the day was so-so. Very creamy but doesn't have a distinctive feature. English breakfast was TWG and the passionfruit was bottomless (I refilled it twice). Overall, the fish was the star of the show.

    Price: 5/5
A bit pricey but the food is worth it. Reasonable pricing for the taste.

    Ambience: 4.5/5
The interior has a boat-like beachy theme and the furniture has corresponding decoration such as crates and rope railings. Pretty comfortable. If you sit inside, there's an option of sofa seatings.

    Service: 5/5
The waiter/waitress were attentive although you have to be a bit loud 'cause it was quite packed when I came here. Kind enough to let me charge my phone in the cashier.

Highlight: Fish and Chips (no matter what variety or seasoning). The fish is bomb. Oh and promo if you're a telkomsel user! (Just show the waiter the text message)!

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000

    Pancious [ Thamrin, Italia ]

    Al dente

I have lost count on how many times I went to Pancious. They have so many options and everything I've tasted so far never fails to make my tummy happy. From waffles, pancakes, to pasta, they never did wrong. There are many stores all over Jakarta so it's not that hard to get to this place.

    Food and beverages: 5/5
I tried salmon risotto, banana rum raisin black charcoal waffle, and their signature earl grey ice milk tea. Salmon risotto is one of my go-to dishes when I come here. Risotto itself was quite creamy and savory with a touch of celery, the salmon was still tender although a little overcooked. Waffle tasted so good. It was sweet with a hint of banana at the right amount, the raisin and ice cream went so well with the waffle. A great choice for sweet tooth. The drink was plenty for two people and enough for three, Earl grey milk tea was sweet and delectable. Even the ice was frozen milk tea, so the taste didn't melt away. All in all, the food here are never disappointing.

    Pricing: 4/5
Price of food and drinks here are quite high but it's totally worth it 'cause their dishes and beverages tasted so good and the portion is quite big and fulfilling.

    Ambience: 4.5/5
Dim lighting, spacious place and power outlets contribute to the comfiness of this place. Had a great vibe that makes you wanna stay all night. Great place to have dinner and long chat.

    Waitress: 4.5/5
The staff here are friendly and helpful. Very attentive.

Highlight: Earl grey milk tea for two!

Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000
    Makasih Infonya!

Victoria Cafe [ Pondok Indah, Kafe ]

    Standard Lunch

Went here to accompany my aunt to have a little meeting (aka free food plus shopping in the mall). This place landed her choice due to its secluded place.

    Food and beverages: 3.5/5
I had Sirloin Steak, Fried Noodle, and English Breakfast Tea. Sirloin steak was seasoned well, had a great taste to it although it was a little overcooked. I like their mushroom sauce and the onion ring was a unique addition to it. Fried noodle's spices seeped well into the noodle and it wasn't too overpowering. English breakfast tea was small I had to order another drink.

    Price: 3/5
Way too overpriced for a taste that normal and for that portion. Sirloin steak costs IDR194.5k and english breakfast tea IDR47.5K excluding tax.

    Ambience: 3.5/5
Located in PIM 2, ground floor and at the corner of the mall, this place had an exclusive vibe to it. Decorations were mainly black with an indoor smoking place divided by a glass door, fancy, The seatings were mainly wooden chairs so it wasn't a place where you'd like to stay for long. Selected seats have power outlets though, so that's a plus. Since it's in the corner, it wasn't loud here. Another plus.

    Service: 3.5/5
Waitresses and waiters were attentive although not as friendly since they didn't smile once.

Highlight: Nothing blows my mind here.

Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000
    Makasih Infonya!

    Lemongrass [ Bogor Utara, Indonesia,China ]

    The coziest place in Bogor

Went here a couple of times, once with my family and my date the other. This place never fails to satisfy me.

    Food and Beverages: 4.5/5
This place serves asian dishes. I ordered Bubur Ikan, Udang Telur Asin, Chicken Wings (Original), Laksa Bebek Panggang, Roti Nutella Milo, and Lychee Radler. Bubur ikan was flawless. Spot on seasoning, not too salty, just perfect. The sauce goes very well with the dish. The fish was also very tender and the portion was just the right amount. Udang telur asin was good, had the right level of saltiness but the seasoning didn't seep into the shrimp that well. Chicken wings was so-so. Laksa bebek panggang was great, the duck was cooked thoroughly. Roti nutella milo was photogenic but nothing extraordinary. Lychee radler was the main highlight of this culinary trip. I can't stress this enough. A must try! The presentation was utterly unique (the bottle was upside down over a glass, held upright by a cute pink holder), mixed with real lychee bits, and as you drink, the contents in the bottle will move down towards the glass. It was very fun.

    Price: 5/5
For a place this renowned and has beautiful interior and exterior decorations, the price is a winner. Quite cheap with great quality.

    Ambience: 5/5
Due to splendid decorations and photogenic surroundings, I crown this place with one of the most comfy restaurant I've ever been to. Has a dreamy vibe, makes me glued to this place and reluctant to leave.

    Service: 5/5
I came here on a Saturday afternoon, it was very crowded I was waitlisted. The waitress was very patient and as time pass, she offered me a few available seats but I was headstrong on sitting at a specific place (sofa next to the queue line as it offers an impressive view). Even with hoards of people coming, she was still poised and professional. The rest of the waiter was very attentive too.

If by any chance you are in Bogor area, you really have to visit this place! To say it's highly recommended would be an understatement😉

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000

Pisa Kafe [ Menteng, Italia ]

    AUS Lamb Chop

Came here to celebrate my dad & boyfriend's birthday. The place is very easy to spot and very spacious.

    Food and beverages: 4/5
I went here with my family so we ordered quite a lot. What we had: Zuppa Creamosa, Ravioli Aglio Spinaci con Crema di Gorgonzola, Lasagna Alforno, Spaghetti Carbonara, AUS Grilled Lamb Chop, and French Fries. Zuppa creamosa's soup was tasty but the bread was a bit thick. Ravioli Aglio Spinaci had bad presentation and it kind of smelled like feet due to the blue cheese, the pasta was under seasoned, and way too creamy. Lasagna was great and heavy on the sauce. French fries were just regular. Spaggetti carbonara was spot on. But the main star was the lamb chop. Very very tender but still had texture, seasoned down to the bone, vegetables were fresh, mashed potato was great, basically it embodied what a perfect lamb chop should be like.

    Price: 3/5
Very pricey. Some of the pastas are not that great, not worth the price. Although the lamb chop was worth every single dime.

    Ambience: 3.5/5
Very spacious and has great indoor decorations, almost feels like you're in a real italian restaurant. The place was dimly lit and the music was very very loud even when we asked to turn the volume down to the waiter, it was still too loud. Had to shout to be heard.
This place has a welcoming sign that said "eat, love, & fun", photogenic.

    Service: 4/5
Attentive waiters although you had to basically raise your voice because the music was set too loud.

Highlights: AUS Lamb Chop & welcome sign!

Harga per orang: Rp. 100.000 - Rp. 200.000
    Makasih Infonya!

Koi Teppanyaki [ Pondok Indah, Jepang ]

    Juicy beef

Was craving for juicy meat and miso soup so I went to PIM and bought food from this restaurant which is located in the food court (PIM 2).

    Food and beverages: 4.5/5
I ordered beef yakiniku (#10) with a side of rice, miso soup, and iced tea. The meat was so juicy and tender, it just melted in my mouth bite after bite. The seasoning was perfect, enough balance between sweet and savory. It was served hot with tofu & vegetables and went very well with rice. The veggies were fresh and still had crisp to it when you bite. Miso soup tasted so good and refreshing. Everything collaborates so goodgreatawesome with each other. Iced tea was sweet at the right level.

    Price: 4/5
Suitable for the taste. Standard pricing with very great taste.

    Ambience: 3/5
Located in food court but has small indoor seatings where you can see the cook making your food. It was actually quite entertaining.

    Service: 3/5
It works like this: you order right from the cashier and pay. Then you wait a few minutes (8 minutes for my food) and you pick up the food. The waitress won't call your name when your food is ready so you have to check directly.

Highlights: beef yakiniku was so good with miso soup!

    Menu yang dipesan: Beef Yakiniku

Harga per orang: Rp. 50.000 - Rp. 100.000
    Makasih Infonya!
