Casual spot for Mexican food in Sency. Kind of hard to spot since it’s inside Red&White. Apparently it’s a branch from Nusa Dua.
Tacos (15-25k) Al pastor: 8/10 Chorizo: 7.5/10 Carne Asada: 7/10 Tried the al pastor, chorizo, and carne asada. They only have soft taco option (which I am not not fond of) but taste wise everything was pretty good. Carna asada was slightly tough to chew. One thing to note is that everything was quite oily vs cantinero/taco local.
Salad Bowl (80k) 9/10 Al pastor with shredded cabbage, corn salsa, pico de gallo, radish, cucumber, avocado salsa, cilantro, and lime dressing. Flavourful, tangy, and refreshing. Felt like this is a salad for non salad people, filling while still being balanced with nutrients. You can switch up the protein with other options (including plant based ones).
Horchata (35k) 7.5/10 Rice milk infused with cinnamon and vanilla. Very refreshing drink since it’s not too creamy nor sweet.
Place was somewhat small, limited seating available so probably best for takeaway. Got the taro (24k) and I quite like it. Since I ate it straight from the chiller the texture was more like ice cream. If you prefer creamier texture wait 30-60 minutes of thawing. Not too sweet and quite strong taro flavour with some chunks inside.
Tried out the legendary fresh cream cake (49k) as it was Chateraise best seller menu. Cake was light and fluffy however I felt like there was too much cream to cake ratio. There were some strawberry scattered inside and on top of the cake but they were pretty sour (expected them to be sweeter based on how juicy they looked). Overall nice option for those of you who prefer airier and less sweet cake.

Elvis Presley (68k) 9/10 This>desserts for me. Perfect for those of you who like sweet-savoury combo. The peanut butter, banana, bacon, and maple syrup may sound weird but actually taste really good. Chips were 👍🏻as well.
Poured Tiramisu (60k) 7/10 Despite being the pioneer of deconstructed tiramisu in Jakarta, this was just okay for me. I didn’t regret getting this but won’t necessarily queue for this.
Black Sesame Lemon Meringue (60k) 7.5/10 Got this for takeaways. I enjoyed both the black sesame and lemon parts but separately? I don’t think the combo works for my palate.
Vienna Latte - Pistachio (48k) 7.5/10 Pleasantly surprised by how dominant the pistachio flavour was, plus the extra crumbs on top. Coffee was on the weaker side but not too milky. The drink was very very sweet so I will probably request no sugar next time as the mousse on top was sweet already.

So far the best katsu I’ve tried in Jakarta. Katsutoku’s batter really differentiate it from other places imo, very well seasoned and crunchy without falling apart while not oily at all. Even their cabbage slaw tastes better than most places. For best value for money, order their lunch set that comes with soup, rice, and side dishes.
Tenderloin Katsu Set (190k) 8.5/10 Crispy outside and juicy inside. Since I dislike fattier cut, I actually prefer this over the sirloin. If it’s your first time, recommend getting the mixed lunch set so you can try both types of pork katsu.
Unagi Katsu Ala Carte (238k) 7.5/10 Not soggy at all and very crunchy. I like how thick and juciy the unagi slices were. No fishiness and soft bones as well. They also gave you 2 extra sauces (eel and tartar dipping sauces) that went well with the katsu.

Imo Kita’s foods were overall just okay, pretty underwhelming for six star hotel. Everything was average at best (5-6/10) and honestly left me with zero impression. Not bad but not great either🧐. At least the interior and view were pretty lovely.
Things ordered: 1. 3 kinds sashimi (490k) 2. Sake salmon sashimi (250k) 3. Australian wagyu rib eye mb7 (580k) 4. Tempura moriawase (230k) 5. Ebi tempura rice set (250k) 6. Kita roll (290k) 7. Cold soba (160k) 8. Chicken gyoza (80k) 9. Robata: King oyster mushroom (30k), chicken wings (50k), asparagus (40k), and miso eggplant (40k)
Butterman’s croissants are one of my favourites in Bali and based on my visits here, the quality remains consistent across the branches. So far everything has been above average so it’s definitely becoming one of my go to pastries brand. Croissant dough was flaky, buttery, and crispy even when they don’t reheat the croissant. 📍Grand Indonesia Service and Ambiance 7.5/10 Price $$ 🐈Will revisit
Framboisine (70k) 8.5/10 If you’ve tried Butterman’s pistachio roll, than you know that the raspberry flavour is much more dominant compared to the pistachio cream. This is for those that like more pronounced pistachio component. The pistachio butter cream and hazelnut dacquoise are pretty much at the forefront, with raspberry giving it a slight hint of tartness. An unexpected but welcome finding from Butterman.
Almond Croissant (40k) 8/10 Pretty much my go to pastry order. Love how rich and creamy the frangipane is. The almond slices on top added nice crunch and additional sweetness as well.
Ham Cheese Allumette (58k) 8/10 Never been a savoury gal but this one exceeded my expectation. Very rich and gurih in flavour without being too overwhelming.
Black Truffle Eggy Jar (55k) 7/10 Like eating more liquified form of creamed spinach. The yolk made it super rich. Really good sourdough as well but got too creamy by the end.
Was confused about what to order so I just went with both sets available. Overall I think the meat selections for Sanshu-Dai were better suited for my preferences. Each set came with salad, rice, japchae, kimchi, soup, and dessert. 📍Plaza Senayan Service and Ambiance 7/10 Price $$ 🐈Worth to Try
Sanshu-Danmi Course (518k) 8/10 In this set, you got 3 types of meat: Jo Tanshio, Bolar Blade, and Jo Karubi. Overall much prefer meat quality for this set. Favourite would be the Jo Tanshio, really great tongue which can be difficult to find in Jakarta.
Yakiniku Zanmai (445k) 6/10 Strictly speaking you get better value for your bang on this set since you get 4 meats: Negi Tanshio, Karubi, Harami, and Tsubizuke Karubi. However I found most of them to be either too thin, too chewy, or too fatty.
Hotate (207k) 7.5/10 A random add on that turned out pretty good. Scallops were really plump and juicy.
Loving the concept of natural wine bar🍷. Vibe was similar to Mosto Bali (which I really liked as well). Foods were decent-good, mostly could benefit from additional salt, and desserts were excellent. Will be back to try their other dishes (and wine ofc) 📍Menteng Service and Ambiance 8.5/10 Price $$ 🐈Will revisit
Drommekage (90k) 9/10 Reminds me of a wetter, deconstructed version of french toast. Creamy from the ice cream, tangy from the berries, and sweet from the muscovado syrup. Favourite of the night. Weirdly enough I prefer this over their actual baklava french toast?
Chocolate Terrine (90k) 8.5/10 Definitely the heavier dessert vs the drommekage. That said, I personally love how fudgy and chocolatey it was (almost like fudgy bro brownies on steroids). Get this if you are a chocolate lover.
White Bean Hummus (80k) 7.5/10 Texture wise one of the smoothest hummus I’ve tried in Jakarta. Very generous with the evoo as well. Lacking in flavour though so we added some salt. The complimentary sourdough was nicely toasted and chewy with good amount of tang.
Gnocchi Sardinia (180k) 7.5/10 Despite being so creamy surprisingly not overwhelmingly heavy. Probably due to the gorgonzola and smoked brisket. Bone marrow added nice umaminess as well.
Buratta (160k) 6.5/10 Buratta was not as fresh as I would have liked. It was quite firm and cold. Gremolata was refreshing though.
Whole Sole Fish (210k) 6.5/10 Without a doubt the most value of money item in the menu. You get an entire fish for only 200ish. Felt like there’s ‘bau tanah’ from the fish though? Relish was smokey and refreshing, pretty helpful in dispersing the fish smell.
Hand Cut Chips (50k) 5/10 Standard fries texture. Lacking seasonings so we asked for salt and pepper.
Brunch was lovely but croissants were not as good as Bali. Dirty chai latte and hot chocolate were also too milky. I think they are still fine tuning their equipments so will probably return once everything is more settled. I am curious about their pm menu (looks like they have nat wine) as well. 📍Senopati Service and Ambiance 7/10 Price $$ 🐈Worth to try
Monte Cristo Black Mayu (115k) 8.5/10 Best dish out of everything. Nothing like the usual monte cristo, this one is way more savoury from the corned beef pastrami and cheese. The most unique component was def the black garlic flavour, umami and mildly sweet at the same time.
Manchego Baked Eggs (120k) plus Lamb Merguez (60k) 7.5/10 Nice creamy scrambled texture, slightly lacking in salt but the sausage gave it that extra flavour boost. The sourdough (love their bread as usual) and diced potato made it very fulfilling.
Frenchie (95k) 6.5/10 French toast made with leftover sourdough and served with ricotta, tomato, honeycomb, and pesto dip. More of a cold dish so not something I gravitate towards in the morning. Taste wise it’s the lightest, I personally would have liked more sweetness in my french toast.
Croissants: Plain (28k), Pain au Chocolate (35k), and Almond (42k) 5/10 Braud’s hazelnut croissant is a particular favourite of mine so imagine the disappointment when the Jkt versions ended up being so different to the Bali one. Texture was not flaky at all and they all went ‘melempem’ when you cut/bite through them. The best one was the almond since it was twice baked and hence slightly more crunchy.
