Orbit Gelato

Dulu udah lama banget pernah kesini sama teman2. Akhirnya sekarang mampir lagi dan mau pakai voucher kolektif dari PergiKuliner
Lokasi nya sederetan sama The Garden situ, agak pojok dia. Pas dateng kesini gak rame sih, mungkin karena habis hujan juga.

Sebelum beli, kita bisa coba beberapa rasa biar tau mana yang enak. Untuk varian rasa sih gak terlalu banyak. Setelah coba 3-4 rasa, akhirnya memutuskan beli yang rasa Bittersweet. Ini semacam dark chocolate gitu. Ga pahit banget kok, dan gak terlalu manis juga. Enak lah pokoknya

Untuk suasana nya sih cozy. Dia ada 2 lantai, gw makan dibawah aja soalnya sepi juga. Pelayanan nya juga ramah. Next time mau mampir lagi coba rasa2 yang lain hehe

Being stranded in the northern part of Jakarta, in the area of PIK/Pantai Indah Kapuk, the lovely couple @gideonseputra @aktalisa took us to @orbitgelato , to try and enjoy gelato like we never had in Surabaya and boy, what a decision. 

The gelato was served in a small tub/jar. Yeah folks, not those classic paper cups we usually use to enjoy our gelato with, Orbit Gelato serves their house-made special gelatos in a jar. Interesting, and to be honest for me, I like my gelatos served this way. Feels grippier and firmer than those paper cups. We got the 2 flavours portion to share, 1 jar for 2 people each. Price wise is affordable for us Surabayans, let alone for Jakartans folks. We ordered Rum Raisin and Dark Chocolate -> this was the bomb and couldn't find it anywhere else. 

Rum raisin was alright, I like it but I wish they put real Rum in it. You know, make it boozy. Maybe I gotta fly to Bali to enjoy some boozy treats, as the authorities in Java island are a bit strict regarding alcoholic drinks. Rum raisin ice creams here in Java, Indonesia are just sweet and raisin-y with a hint of rum flavour essence. 

The Dark Chocolate Gelato, oh wow. Divine. The tastes itself was rich and chocolate-y, a tad bitter. To make it better, they added some cocoa nibs into their gelato, giving you a tad of crunchy textures for your enjoyment. I have never found it anywhere else, I wish gelato parlours in Surabaya could serve dark chocolate gelato as good as Orbit's. 

Combine the two in 1 jar together, they felt like Yin and Yang, black and white, complementing and lifting each other up. Looks comforting, black and white in a cup, and tastes great as they could balance each other. The sweetness of the rum raisin, countered and balanced out with the gentle bitterness of the dark chocolate, and the little crunches was a nice addition to the party in your mouth.

Karena lg ppkm dan resto2 pada tutup alhasil pesen bawa pulang. Saya mesen bbrapa rasa, tipe family cup. Saya mesen rasa strawberry nya, taro, coffee, dll. Saya suka si. Rasanya pas. Dan ga terlalu kmanisan gitu. Pas buat saya hehehe.. anak saya jg suka loll..
Trus di cup nya tuh lucu, ada keterangan rasa jd ga tebak2an sblm makan hehehe saya perna coba beli ditmpt lain, cukup kecewa ya. Berantakan gitu gelatonya, trus ga tau rasa apa. Jd orbit gelato tuh bt saya si wow ya bt ukuran pesen bawa pulang. Saya ga perna beli sblmnya tp saya ga dibuat bingung dgn penampakan cup nya.

Orbit Gelato letaknya di PIK, tempatnya cukup besar untuk ukuran tempat gelato. Pelayannya super ramah, jelasinnya detail dan bolehin kita coba dulu rasa gelatonya sebelum kita pilih. Menu yang saya pesan:
- family package 175k (promo 145k): bisa di take away dan ini large pint, bisa campur 5 rasa, cocok banget buat sharing karena isinya banyak banget dan beneran full. worth it!

varian yang saya coba ada:
- sorry im prettier: rasa strawberry, ada rasa asemnya, personally suka sama yg ini
- panda: ada perpaduan browniesnya, personally biasa aja sama rasa ini
- freeze my mouth: mint chocochips, enak juga, mintnya jg ga terlalu strong banget
- new: rasa mango, ada asemnya juga, personally suka sama yg ini juga
- i love you 3000: salted caramel, percampuran manis dan asin, personally biasa aja sm rasa ini

Waktu kesini aku pesen rasa rum raisin dan strawberry, menurutku keduanya enak. Rum raisinnya kerasa banget dan rasa yang strawberry menurutku mirip-mirip sama yoghurt karna asam. Tempatnya pewe parah apalagi di atas karna ada bean bag chair banyak banget di paling ujung. Hal yang aku kurang suka disini adalah toppingnya karena menurutku itu jadi bikin blepotan dan agak susah untuk dimakan, jadi ga terlalu enjoy juga.
