You may come here for the iconic stairs, but you should definitely dine in here and sample their fajitas. Simply the best a Jakartan establishment could offer, mindblowingly good and stuffed to the brim, seriously exceeded my expectations. Their friendly staff and the hip ambiance considering it being an artspace only adds to the list of why this place should be called dia.lo.gue artspace and kitchen
PAUL fits perfectly in the restaurant "arrondissement" of Plaza Indonesia. I could sip a cuppa while lounging over a book for hours here. But if you know me, a cuppa isn't enough when dining in this establishment. So we ordered the Atlantique and some salad. The salad was prepared very fresh and it helps that they're one of the few restaurants that serve salad without excess processed ingredients and instead garnishing it with oils and light dressings. The Atlantique sandwich was good, if only I could ask for more sour cream to get that Bagel vibe, but oh well. Finished with Belgian waffles drizzled in chocolate but we ate them so fast I couldn't snap a pic.
Took away their martabak cake and its resemblance to Union's signature Red Velvet cake is uncanny. They incorporated the nutty sides and the soft cake, layered with smears of cream. It tasted a little like cheap martabak but had you digging into it. Maybe I'd be more fond of it if I were to eat in the crowded premises, but this way I don't need to pay service charge.
Their concept is an open kitchen/canteen where you choose the menu of the day or the available dishes such as Quiches and pizzas. The ambiance was really bright and it was nice seeing the fresh produce being made into beautiful foods of all kinds. The quiche was done perfectly but the pizza was meh and the salad was just slightly above average. We'd have to give the barramundi with dragronfruit sauce the thumbs up though, they really did a good job in zesting the fish to freshness, yet still warm enough for its divine texture to be enjoyed.
Definitely not what I expected from a global shabu-shabu house brand. Tried their truffle base soup and let me tell you I was like the truffle dog trying to taste wherever the truffle taste was. The selection of toppings was also limited to a few items on the counter, which was quite small and therefore caused inconvenience when trying to take the food. However, here you get more than just beef slices, they give you prawns, squid and salmon too and that filled us up quite quickly.
Gorgeous restored building in the centre of the refurbished Kota Tua Tourism site. Its ambiance transports you 100 years back to Dutch colonial rule and that's exactly its selling point. Opt for the window seat facing Fatahillah Square for the best unobstructed views while you sip on a cuppa.
Well managed outlet in the ever crowded Grand Indo. Friendly staff, attentive service and quality beverages. The only thing is the pickup counter was located too close by the paying station.
Don't let the bad logo fool you. This place has potential alright. Kamokuma's back with a new and sizzling concept ready to tingle your tastebuds with their perfect hybrid rendition of beef ribs and sambal matah. 1/2 a kilo of tender beef that even got one of us asking whether it was beef or not just proves that you have to to try out this place. A 5* rating awaits them should they expand their space.
Pablo is as magical as those Instagram posts you see by Thai or more recently, Indo food accounts. Well, one might say not so much, but hey, taste is subjective! It's more magical when you get out of the 3 hour line and savor the intense creamy Matcha filling, gooey and sinful indeed, with surprises along the way, such as the finely incorporated red bean and the more occasional mochi bits. As for the mini chocolate tart, they were okay, but I would say not worth the 3 hour wait kind of okay.
Always filling with their signature mozzarella cheese baked dishes. Try their salmon and zenbu with butter rice and there's a good chance you'll end up being satisfied. Their Omurice was also quite good, but not up to Co** Ichi*****'s kind of good. Overall a good budget meal in Plaza Indonesia.
