One of our favorite pastimes is definitely leisure readings in coffee shops, especially if they have a cozy interior and indulgent beverages! When we had the chance to visit Tyfel Coffee the other day with friends, we knew we just had to order their Bon Bon Coffee, which is served with a cute little bottle, topped with an aluminum foil wrapping. We really love the balance of coffee and milk in this beverage! Our pick for light reading? Real Choochoo's recently released book, which we absolutely loved! These little booklets of pure bliss are now available in major bookstores in Indonesia. With a vibrant blue cover like this, you really can't miss them. In our opinion, they make for an excellent coffee table companion!
Black Gyukatsu Set 🥩 Beef Katsu 🍚 Foiegras Rice 🍲 Truffle Dashi Soup 🥗 Salad 🥚 Egg Yolk Dipping We've never been so intrigued by a dish until we saw this black gyukatsu in social media. The color contrast between the black breading and juicy red meat looked not only appetizing, but also elegant. Just by looking at the ingredients, we knew this wouldn't be your everyday lunch meal; the high price point is justified by high quality ingredients. The meat is relatively juicy, but the signature katsu crunch layer didn't have enough bite on it for us. They gave us a cast iron pan to sear the meat before actually eating them, and that actually helped accentuate the meat's natural aroma. We loved the three grill sauces as well (onion sauce, truffle sauce, bulldog sauce), with the onion sauce being our favorite for its savoriness. After grilling the meat, we dipped it in the egg yolk before savoring every bite. In our opinion, the meat could use more salt, though. 🙏🏻 The foiegras rice is... a foiegras rice. You can taste the foiegras with every mouthful of the rice, and it adds complexity to the flavor even more. The truffle soup is mostly a dashi stock with some sliced shimeji mushroom and a generous drizzle of truffle oil. We were impressed with the amount of variation we got with a single set menu, which in part is the selling point of this dish. However, we felt that there was too much going on in one dish, that we failed to determine which is the "star" ingredient of the set menu. Each component tasted great on their own, but we're not entirely sure if they're meant to be eaten together. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Matcha Hokkaido Puff We're thrilled to finally try this Hokkaido Ice Cream Puff! Been a long time fan of Japanese cream puffs, and this certainly didn't disappoint! The puffs were crunchy and held its texture even after holding the giant scoop of ice cream. The ice cream itself was so creamy, balanced with a little hint of bitterness, and super decadent. We couldn't ask for a better matcha flavor!
We were so excited to try this cheese toast, which has been the talk of the town for quite awhile now. Nothing beats the crunchiness of the toasts, the slightly sweet spread, and that ultimately gooey and stringy cheese. We admit we were quite skeptical about the cheese toast before; how could the cheese be stretched that far? Well, turned out it could, and it was certainly one of the best toasts we've ever had in our lives!

Ice Milk Drink w/ Caramel, Taro Pudding, Honey Boba (IDR 29k) We ordered ours with taro pudding because they ran our of their regular one. But we were pleasantly surprised to find how lovely the flavor combination was! Not only did the beverage feel silky smooth and mellow because of the milk, it was also perfectly sweetened with honey; the very same they coated the honey boba with. Fair warning, guys. We don't think ordering one is going to be enough.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino As if it were a tradition, we've started utilizing our Saturdays to do even more work. This usually means cafe-hopping in search of the best place to get some work done.
This time, we're having this spaghetti to accompany us during our productive weekend. We certainly appreciate the generous serving of tuna flakes and sprinkles of tobiko with the pasta. We certainly wished the dish was more garlic-y, though. But it was a decent meal for a relatively affordable price.
(Spoiler alert: we managed to get some work done here! The ambiance is good and there weren't many people, which helped us concentrate!)

Recommended banget deh, pokoknya!
Menu yang dipesan: sandwich ala king, ala king original, nasi goreng hongkong keju
Combo BBQ Pork Belly Succulent pork meat, crunchy pork cracklings, and sweet & juicy pork satay to complete the dish. This is definitely one of our favorite comfort food! The BBQ seasoning brings out the natural umami flavor from the meat. Much love! Bacon Cheese Bomb Bacon and mozzarella cheese. What do you get when you combine two of our favorite ingredients into one dish? 😍😍😍
Not only does Bacon Cheese Bomb has crunch from the fried bacon, the gooey cheese inside becomes a nice contrast in texture. Don't forget the small dollop of mayonnaise on top, which binds the finger food together into this crunchy-yet-chewy, salty-yet-sour snack we will definitely crave for a long time!

Untung aja porsinya besar banget; kami cukup kenyang meski sepiring dimakan berdua.
Suka banget deh pokoknya.
