Siang2 pengen ngedimsum, ketemu lah resto dimsum lokasi nya di mandarin oriental  karena saya dateng nya jam 1 an resto nya uda mau tutup jam 3 siang.
Untuk makanan nya saya pilih beberapa dimsum ama main course.
1. Trio seafood plater: ini seafood plater isi nya ada ikan , cumi ama scallops. Untuk rasa ikan nya dibuat pake saus manis, cumi nya dimasak ama goreng tepung dan scallop nya di grill daging nya masi juicy. Ikan nya empuk kaga amis ama cumi nya kaga alot.
2. Swan dumpling : salah satu menu signature disini konon kata nya menu ini cuman ada 2 di dunia 1 di taiwan ama di di indo. Untuk plating nya emang cantik swan nya pas disirem pake air dry es berubah kayak kabut kalo untuk rasa swan nya pas dimakan garing kulit nya terus untuk isian nya ada bebek masak blackpepper. Enak ini swan dumpling wajib dicoba kalo kesini.
3. Xiao long bao : untuk xiao long bao nya enak dimakan pas masih panas isian nya pake daging babi nya meleleh pas dimakan. Enak kuah nya.

Best DimSum

Li Feng, a Chinese fine dining restaurant located inside Mandarin Oriental. Legend said that this restaurant has the best dimsum in the town. Before I came I've contacted their Captain Mr. Rudi Wibowo for the menus and my dining preferences. Then on saturday, I made it there.

The interior resembles a Chinese ship which has a story behind it. Mr Rudi told me that it is based on history when Chinese empire sailed to Indonesia to open a trade routes, and the ship they were using became an inspiration to create this restaurant.

The restaurants itself isn't really spacious, yet the interior has a blue and yellow dominant color which is different than usual chinese restaurant which prefer to use a red color theme. It has a blue glass ornament on the ceiling of the restaurant which resemble the wave that take on the ship. The restaurant also came out with a dimly light to give a more private and romantic ambience around it, but because I want to take a good picture I requested them to make it brighter for my table.

For lunch they provide ala carte menu and dimsum menu, this time I was going for their dimsum menu. For a fine dining restaurant, the price given isn't really that high. For me it's pretty affordable. A dimsum costs you just for 25-40k.

Here's what I ordered : 

- Shrimp Har Gau (10/10) : har gau was solid, juicy, and delicious. The shrimp and bamboo shoots filling given was generous. 

- Siu Mai with Scallops (10/10) : it's kinda rare to see a steamed dimsum siu may topped with scallops. Siumay was delicious, and the scallops on top of it was so soft, not chewy at all. and perfectly cooked. 

- Chicken Black Truffle Bun (10/10) : the white chinese bun was so soft, with a generous filling of chicken and black truffles. The black truffles was so fragrant and give a flavor kick to the bun. 

- Steamed Rice Roll with BBQ Pork (10/10) : this one was so amazing, usually steamed rice roll came out to be soft, but in here the steamed rice roll was chewy like a mochi texture but not overwhelming. The bbq pork inside was so fragrant and juicy as well. Perfect!!! 

- Xiao Long Bao Shanghainese Pork Dumpling (8/10) : this was my first time trying xiao long bao. This dumpling contains juice inside it, and when you give your first bite, it will explode and fill your mouth with the juices. But for me, the pork filling inside wasn't really fragrant and also it's too gingery for me. But it's not bad though.

- Turnip Cake with XO Sauce (8/10) : It tasted good, the turnip cake was so soft and tender. But I wish that they make the side of the turnip cake to have more crunch on it, so it will have a feel of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. 


 - Black Swan Dumpling (10/10) : this is the signature dish in here. Legend said this dish is only available at 2 location in the world, the first one is located at Li Feng Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, and the second one is located at Jiang by Chef Fei at Mandarin Oriental GuangZhou. The dish consists of black swan shaped dumpling with a generous black pepper duck meat filled inside the dumpling. First the waiter will come to your table and bring a plate full of black swans, then he/she will pour some water to fill the holes which have some dry ices underneath. The result is an eruption of ice fog that will create an amazing view in which the swans will look like they're floating on the cloud. The dumpling was crunchy yet the blackpepper duck filling didn't taste too spicy also. It was so delicious, and I can call this dish a masterpiece. 

- Homemade baked Egg Tarts (10/10) : it came in a small bite size, but it was so fragrant yet not too sweet. So perfect for a pre dessert. 

- Blueberry Snow Skin Dumpling (10/10) : A beautiful presentation for a dessert. It was served on a wooden ancient chinese scroll plate. The texture was soft, the blueberry sauce doesn't overwhelm the flavor, and it has a cold sensation in my mouth. Amazing!

- Cooked Pu Erh Tea Lao Man Er 2015 (9/10) : A cooked Pu Erh Tea from Lao Man Er which has a earthy yet soothing taste within it. Tea cost you for 68k++. But there was a misunderstanding on the menu though, they should write that the price given for the tea is for only 1 person, The staff also didn't inform me about this information. So when I ordered this tea (I came here with my parents, so in total of 3 persons), they counted it as 3 times from the price given, so I had to paid around 250k for this tea. (TwT)

The service was very good, the waiter and waitress were so attentive towards their customer, especially Mr. Rudi Wibowo who served our table directly. Also I've got the chance to meet and took a photograph with Chef Chang See Loy who was the Executive Chef in Li Feng.

If you ask me will I come back to this restaurant once again. Of course I will, next time I'm going to try their main course (szechuan beef, sweet sour chicken, fried fish skin are their signature also). I am looking towards for it.

Oke la, ga sampe wow banget

Li feng ini letaknya di mandarin hotel. Ngeliat reviewnya pada bagus2, jadilah kesini dengan keluarga. Gua pesen beberapa menu tapi yg melekat di hati sih ada beberapa

1. Ubur2
Ini hitam gitu, karena direndam pakai vinegar jadi rasanya asem2 manis. Unik juga ini, mayan enak

2. Swan dumpling
Ini rasanya biasa aja, lucu doank bentuknya dan dikasi asep2

3. Sapi
Empuk banget ini sapi, enak!

4. Tahu pake daging kepiting
Ini enak! Jadi makan tahu dengan siraman kuah kuning kepiting, sluurppp

Yg lainnya biasa aja, bakmi goreng biasa, daging kombinasi biasa, ayam goreng tabur cabe biasa

Oke la, ga bikin mau balik lg sih. Pelayanan biasa banget, di bawah standar hotel bintang 5 menurut gua. Piring ga digantiin walaupun udah kotor banget. Dipanggil susah

Restoran Chinese food yg ada di Hotel Mandarin ini selalu penuh, harus reservasi dulu ya guys kl mau kesini.

Chefnya asli diimport dari China, dgn pengalaman kerja di jaringan hotel bintang 5.

.

Masuk ke dalam resto ini, kita dimanjakan dgn interior di langit2 yg menggambarkan laut berombak dgn kapal yg belayar (harus dilihat dgn seksama)

.

Menu istimewa disini dim sum yg bentuknya Bebek hitam dan berasap asap, trus ada sup yg dihidangkan di dalam kelapa. Hampir semua menunya enak dan harganya juga tidak mahal ,sesuai kualitas yg disajikan

Angsa hitam! 😄

Setelah sekian lama pengen coba makan disini akhirnya terkabul jg bersama teman" saya dalam edisi brunch di hari sabtu 😁 Saking semangatnya maj coba li feng ampe" saya dan teman teman datang kepagiannnn dong 😅 resto ini buka jam 11pagi dan saya sampai 15 menit lebih pagi sebelum lifeng ini buka. Hihihi ceritanya jd penglaris hari itu.
Menu yg dipesan :
- wagyu beef fried rice (148K) : porsinya banyak bisa buat saya dan 3 teman saya yg lain. Buat rasa ini enak banget!!!

- siu may chicken (24K) : yang ini biasa aja si.

- crispy beancurd skin roll (30K) : ini enak udangnya segar dan kulitnya crispy.

- riceroll bbq pork (25K) : ini jg enak banget bbq porknya manis!

- swan dumpling (89K) : ini si bintang utama yang bikin aku mau makan di lifeng. Jadi ini fried gt jd agak keras sedikit dan crunchy untuk luarnya. Didalamnya daging bebek blackpepper. Cantik si tp untuk rasa menurut saya biasa aja.

- duck meat taro (24K) : ini ga terlalu enak buat saya. daging bebeknya ga terasa.

Menu yang dipesan: rice roll bqqpork, wagyu beef friedrice, crispy beancurd skinroll, duckmeat taro, siu may chicken, Swan Dumpling

The Black Swan

Seperti yang diharapkan dari restaurant hotel bintang 5, li feng restaurant punya level kelas tertentu. Untuk interior design sungguh menawan. Li feng menawarkan suasana china ceramic blue with a hint of golden ornament. Perpaduan kebudayaan chinese kuno dengan urban life. ❣️

Dari segi makanan, untuk dimsum rasa yang ditawarkan memang premium. Terasa sekali bahan yang dipakai memang segar dan baru!

Highlight dari Li Feng sudah pasti The Black Swan Dumpling. Deep fried dumpling dengan isian bebek dalam bumbu lada hitam. Menurut saya : konsistensi kulit dumpling agak terasa keras dan rasa lada hitam nya sangat terasa. Untuk pecinta blackpepper mungkin suka. Tetapi untuk saya, rasanya agak terlalu bold! I mean strong! Do you get it? 🤔

Untuk harga makanan dalam batas wajar, tetapi memang dari segi harga minuman.. one cup of chinese tea (they called it black dragon something) cost for idr 68. Dan ingat harga di menu belum termasuk tax 21% yah!

That Beautiful Black Swan

Ketika demam Black Swan udah sepi, aku sama temen-temen baru sempet cobain Black Swan yang super terkenal ini. Kita pergi hari Sabtu dan RSVP jam 11. Ternyata jam segitu sepi dan gak perlu RSVP karna ga rame sama sekali. Kesan pertama pas masuk, mewah, berkelas, dan oriental banget. Interiornya keren didominasi Chinese blue keramik dan warna emas, dan kita udah prediksi kalo foto bakalan kuning, ternyata engga sama sekali.

Berhubung tujuan kesini adalah makan si angsa hitam, jadi kita langsung pesen itu dan beberapa menu lainnya.


- Deep Fried Swan Dumpling with Black Pepper Duck Meat / Swan Dumpling (89K++)
Highlight dari acara makan ini adalah si angsa hitam ini. 1 porsi isinya 6 dan semua bagian angsanya bisa dimakan ya. Warna hitamnya kayaknya dari tinta cumi dan didalamnya itu isi bebek lada hitam. Untuk rasa, jujur aja aku udah ga ekspektasi tinggi tinggi dari awal. Enak tapi biasa aja, apalagi ditambah aku ga suka lada hitam jadi makin ga suka dengan si angsa ini. Cantik buat difoto tapi rasanya B banget.

- Fragrant Wagyu Beef Fried Rice with Bean Sprouts in XO Sauce / Wagyu Fried Rice (148++) 
Karna kita dateng kesini di jam brunch, jadi kita memutuskan untuk pesen yang porsinya bakal ngenyangin dan kita pilih nasi goreng wagyu yang kayaknya paling aman dan enak. Dan ternyata beneran enak banget. Penyelamat banget si nasi goreng ini. Porsinya lumayan untuk di sharing, gak berminyak dan tipikal nasi goreng tanpa kecap, jadi oriental gitu. Enak banget sih ini, recommended.

- Crispy Bean Curd Skin Roll Filled with Shrimps and Preserved Vegetables / Shrimp Roll (30K++)
Some said kalo dimsum Li Feng enak-enak, jadi lah salah satunya kita pesen Shrimp Roll ini. I have nothing to say except this dimsum is totally tasty apalagi dipping sauce nya yang asem manis. Aduh enak banget. Apalagi udangnya beneran berasa.

- Siu Mai Chicken (24K++)
Buat siu mai nya, enak kok selayaknya siu mai dimsum biasa, gajauh beda sama restoran lain.

- Duck Meat Taro (24K++)
Kesalahan berikutnya yang kita lakukan adalah memesan menu ini karena ternyata isinya sama kayak si angsa hitam, bebek lada hitam. Presentasinya cantik walaupun rasanya biasa aja dan kita ga suka. Kayak taro dengan isi bebek lada hitam di goreng trus pake telor putih jadi bentuknya kayak sarang burung gitu.

- RR BBQ Pork (25K++)
Sejujurnya aku gatau ini nama aslinya apa, yang jelas ini adalah chicong fan dan di bonnya namanya RR BBQ PORK wkwkwk. Intinya ini chicong fan nya enakkkkkkkkkkk. totally recommended!

- Black Dragon Tea (68K++)
Ini teh biasa yang paling mahal yang pernah gue minum. Well for me, ini teh nya enak tapi cuma kayak Chinese tea biasa. Dan kemahalan jujur aja untuk harga segitu walaupun refill. Tapi kalo kalian suka teh dan ga keberatan dengan harganya fine fine aja sih. Cuma ini mahal banget :(

So overall, makanan di Li Feng enak kok, untuk harga masih oke lah. Dan untuk yang bukan pecinta black pepper, Black Swan is not as great as you guys expected kok. Tapi okelah kalo kalian emang mau coba. Dimsumnya juga murah murah.

Appetizer juara banget!

Bener2 makanan di li feng ini super enak. Paling juara itu appetizer mereka yang crispy salmon skin with salted egg. Aduhhh. 1 piring sih bisa diabisin sendiri. Beneran enak. Agak asin dan sauce salted egg nya enak. Engga bikin enek, malahan bikin nagih.

Black swan itu dari kulit pastry yang chef nya butuh 3 jam untuk siapin 1 black swan. Renyah dan enak daging black pepper nya. Pas deh!

Mango mousse sebagai dessert juga bener2 refreshed your palette banget. Seger dan enak.

Spectacular!

Udah lama ngelirik, apalagi interiornya dahsyat banget, walaupun family restaurant, Chinese pula, tapi interiornya gak norak. Super modern blue Chinese, bisa juga dijadikan tempat ngedate <3 Saya bakal bahas makanannya satu-satu : 

Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg : This is how you start a meal, dengan appetizer yang sungguh menggoda. Penyajiannya cantik, pink flower on top! Crispy skin menggunakan ikan salmon, TIDAK ADA rasa amis sama sekali. Telur asinnya pun melumuri sempurna, sedikit pedas, gak sampe bikin kepedesan. 

Scallop Dimsum : Agak lupa sama nama menunya, pokoknya dimsum yg pakai scallop. SUPER banget, teksturnya kenyal dan garing, dan super moist inside. FYI, harga dimsum di sini sangat cengli, skitar 20-30 ribuan! 

Imperial Kung Fu Soup : Kirain teh, eh ternyata soup ayam. Bukan seperti ayam obat, jadi gak ada bau. Kaldunya mild banget, berasa sehat abis makan ini :D 

Swan Dumpling with Blackpepper Duck Meat : YES, Ini dia bintang utamanya. Sebenernya ini adalah pastry isi bebek, bebekception gitu deh. Pastrynya renyah banget, dan isi bebeknya pun enak, mirip isinya cha siu pao. 

Sauted Beef with Szechuan Pepper and Chili : Dagingnya sapinya empuuuuuuuuuuuk sekali, dan bumbunya meresap sempurna. Chilli nya sama sekali ga pedes kok.

Sweet and Sour Chicken with Pineapple and bell pepper : Ayam asam manis ini disajikannya heboh banget, pakai caramel hair gitu diatasnya. Ayamnya digoreng tepung seperti bola-bola, agak tebal, but somehow saya menikmati tepung itu, hahaha. Ditambah nanas dan paprika yang selalu saya comotin. 

Wok Fried String Beans : Sudah banyak makan daging, harus makan sayur. Buncis is my fav, dan seneng banget begitu coba gigitan pertama buncisnya dimasak garing. YUM! 

Braised Crab with Japanese Rice : Lumayan kaget ada seekor kepiting ditumpukan nasi goreng ini. Sebenernya agak susah makannya kalo di restoran hotel begini, malu cyin gerogotin kepiting. Tapi yah namanya doyan, jadi saya sih hajar aja, hihi. Untuk nasinya agak lembek untuk nasi goreng, dan rasanya gak terlalu pekat. 

Three Dessert Platter : Sebenernya dessert ini bisa dibeli terpisah, jadi ini seperti sample platternya saja. Dimakan mulai dari yang berbentuk bebek, seperti onde-onde isi cream, dan agak hangat. Lalu next mochi isi cream yang lembuuut, ditutup dengan mango puree. Mangonya dahsyat!! Seger dan tepat banget buat penutup. 

Overall puas banget sama makanan di sini, bakal balik lagi for sure sama keluarga. Tapi setelah melihat menu, tips aja untuk hati-hati memilih makanan, khususnya nasi putih dan chinese tea nya. Nasi putih harganya 30ribuan, dan chinese tea 68ribuan belum tax. Jadi kalo saya sih lebih mending pilih nasi goreng daripada nasi putih kalo harganya segitu. Salam cengli!

Extraordinary!

Li Feng is one of the quality restaurant that delivers both extraordinary food and amazing atmosphere. The ambience is so inviting, a classy chinese restaurant. The floor, the furniture, the walls, and the ceiling, oh, just wonderful.

These are some recommended menu that I've tried:

Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk: It was my favorite appetiser ever! Oh my, the skin was so crispy, the salted egg was just amazingly tasty. Wow <3

Swan Dumpling with Black Pepper Duck Meat: This is just a must if you visited this place. It was actually like a pastry, with duck meat with black pepper inside. The presentation was just spectacular. 6 lovely black swans on top, and there were smokes to dramatise from the poured dried ice. The taste was really nice.

Imperial Kung Fu Soup: This is a real deal. Stewed chicken and quail with matsutake, cordyceps flower and dried longan. You can taste the flavourful and tender chicken inside with fragrant and delicious broth. So the unique thing about this is you can eat the chicken and all with the chopstick, then you can drink the broth in the cup, after pouring it from the pot.

Sauteed Beef with Szechuan Pepper and Chili: The beef was so tender and rich, so delicious!!! <3 I live the spice, love the pepper, love the texture.

Sweet & Sour Chicken with Pineapple and Bell Pepper: The chicken was playful with all the pineapple sauce. It was shaped like a ball, and their presentation was just so pretty!

Three Dessert Platter: I was so glad to have this as a dessert. So this was a three step dessert. First of all, deep fried glutinous rice dumpling with frog jelly and coconut milk. So yummy, the texture was gooey and nice. Then, blueberry snow skin dumpling, fresh and sweet and a bit chill. Lastly, chilled mango with pomelo sago cream. I LOVE the mango! It was so fresh and creamy and just amazing!
