Union

I really wanted to go to Union since forever. I often go to theirs' store in Grand Indonesia and ate theirs' cakes but never went to Plaza Senayan outlet to try theirs' menu. This place is really unique. It designed like a greenhouse. It's located beside Plaza Senayan's Mall. The interior was clean and neat with white cloth over theirs' wooden table. The chair was wooden furnished which makes this place really nice.

Red Velvet Cheese Cake and Red Velvet Pie - Rp 55,000 and Rp 50,000 This two are definitely in my top 5 favorite cake I ever tasted. The red velvet pie was so good. I prefer theirs' red velvet pie over red velvet cheese cake because there are more cream cheese and because of the thick red velvet crust. It's basically Union's signature red velvet cake in pie form. The crust was so crunchy and holds the cake in shape really well. Topped with my favorite EVER sweet peanut crumbs makes this cake is definitely worth a try!

Red Velvet Cheese Cake - Rp 55,000 If you ever tasted Union's red velvet cake and you like cheese cake, then this will be your next cake crush of the year. The cake was so moist and soft. But I feel like when I ordered a full cake the taste was a little bit better somehow. But anyway the difference isn't that significant between sliced cake and full cake. The wise way to eat this is to eat both part at once so you can taste hint of saltiness from the cheese cake and hint of bitterness from the red velvet and sweetness from both of the cake. This cake smelled so good that makes you wanna have another plate.

Escargots, Garlic Butter - Rp 105,000 I was never interested in ordering escargots every time I went to a restaurant. But, after I tasted this, it changed my mind. The escargot was so soft and buttery in my mouth. It didn't tasted like what I think escargots will be taste like and the best part,it didn't smelled at all. Accompanied by crunchy garlic, it makes a perfect combo! Small tips from me, save your free bread from the beginning of your order and dip it into the garlic butter, it's the BOMB!

Pork Crackling & Bacon Lardons, Spaghetti, Alba Truffle Cream - Rp 105,000 Curious about the hype of this pork themed spaghetti so I gotta try one. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly. The truffle cream was perfect and not overpowering my palette and the bacon was tender yet juicy. The pork crackling was nice but sadly not my favorite. It was good but I expected more because of the hype. But it is still worth to try because this dish was such a creamy dish.

Roasted Mushrooms, Spaghetti, White Truffle Cream (V) - Rp 95,000. This dish tasted quite the same with the pork spaghetti. It is creamy and yummy. Honestly I can't choose which one is better. I gave both of the dish 8,5/10 each. They gave generous amount of mushrooms. The mushrooms was pleasant and delightful.

Fennel-Crusted Pork Belly, Crispy Pork Rinds, Pomme Puree, Honey Mustard Vinaigrette - Rp 160,000 This is probably my favorite dish from my visit. The pork belly was sooo tender! It was very pleasant to eat. With the combination of the puree and honey mustard vinaigrette the dish tasted very good! The mustard was not too sour with the combination of honey it's such a perfect match with the pork belly. Because of the apple I can tasted the sweet taste from it in the pork belly. This dish is definitely a must order

Wagyu Jajangmyeon w/ Beef Rinds & King Oyster Mushrooms - Rp 135,000 I hesitated to ordered this menu at first so I ordered this menu after half of my order came out because I'm curious how's the taste of the traditional Korean menu with a bit of twisted because they added some "unusual" component to this traditional menu. It turns out quite good but not my favorite. The noodle was not a good match with this menu, it was to thick. The black bean sauce was too little than the usual black bean noodle I ordered in some Korean restaurant. The mushroom was good and surprisingly the kimchi tasted decent.

I actually ordered Truffle Fries (Rp 40,000) and Nasi Goreng (I forgot the price) but the food was across the table so I cannot take a proper picture of it.

The truffle fries smelled amazingly good. The fries was crispy and thin but soft inside, with grated cheese on top makes a perfect sides for lunch or dinner.

The Nasi Goreng was so good. The rice was not too dry and not too wet either. The spices of the Nasi Goreng was perfect, it was salty and a hint of spicy also. Overall it is my favorite dish after the pork belly.

This is one of my all time fav bistro in town! What i really like about union are the cake, foods and also place. Tempatnya slalu rame and waiting list. Nice place, nice ambience. Untuk makanannya, my most fav is garlic butter escargot omg! The taste really really good! You should try, jangan diliat dari bentuknya because its escargot haha. And untuk cakenya, my most fav is pie red velvet, ini enak banget, i really like the crumble ;) but red velvet cake and peanut butter jelly also good one. Untuk harganya, bistro sekelas union bisa di bilang tidak terlalu mahal di compare dengan rasa dan pelayanan serta tempatnya yg cozy

Restoran yg selalu rame dan ga pernah sepi. Utgnya waiting list mreka saya plg lama prna nunggu cm 1/2 jam. Kalau makan disini biasanya dibatasi hanya 2 jam krn waiting list trs. Disini saya pesan :

  -pork crackling pasta : pastanya pake kerupuk samcan dan lemak babi,semuanya serba babi. Dagingnya sndiri ga bau babi,krupuk samcannya ngingetin kerupuk samcan yg dijual di bali sih. Dari segi rasa lumayan enak dan porsinya pas utk 1 org

-escargot : salah satu menu yg slalu dipesan org selain red velvet cakenya. Saya pribadi hampir ga prna makan escargot, tp yg union punya bumbunya agak beda krn pake tomat, jadinya agak lebih seger. Porsinya jg cukup banyak,ad 12 escargot.  

-orrechiette : pasta yg ini pake saus dari daging bulu babi, tp pribadi saya sndiri sih rasa bulu babinya kurang berasa. 

-Red velvet cake : Kalau sebut union,smw org pasti lgsg sebut red velvet cakenya. Memang benar rasa red velvetnya enak banget!! Kacangnya super crunchy,cream cheesenya lembut,dan cakenya it sendiri padar dan lembut. Walaupun utk satu slice cake harganya cukup mahal,tp cakenya sndiri makannya bisa sharing soalnya gede banget jadinya bener2 ga rugi deh 

-Classic happy birthday cake : salah satu cake favorit saya slain red velvet cake. Simple banget,sponge cake dgn cream cheese dan smacam coklat di bgn luar cakenya. Walaupun simple tp rasanya ga kalah dgn red velvet pienya. 

-Tia maria tiramisu : tiramisu terenak yg prnah saya makan! Tiramisunya berasa sekali rhumnya dan dimakan dgn eskrim vanilla buatan sndiri, bener2 enak. Kalau diurutkan,kue ini no 1 favorit saya di union. 

-Strawberry Charlotte Cake : asem krn stroberinya, walopun tekstur agak creamy tp ga eneg.

-Ovomaltine pannacotta : salah satu pannacotta terenak yg prna saya coba. Teksturnya super lembut,lumer di mulut,dan ovomaltinenya ga pelit! 

-Hot Cappucino : rasanya lumayan, kopinya ga asem tp standar. 

Overall, pengalaman saya makan di union sangat baik. Disamping union yg slalu ramai,servisnya cepat dan pelayannya ramah. Makanannya pun juga enak2. Bakal balik lagi utk tia maria tiramisu dan red velvet cakenya. Cm mgkn yg kurang saya suka adlh tmpt smoking dan non smoking digabung

Siap-siap waiting list aja kalo makan disini,ngga pernah sepi. Minimal kalo kesini beli roti dan cakenya kalo waiting listnya kelamaan tapi perut udah ga sabar nahan lapar.
Hampir semua cake-nya suka,terutama union cheesecake,nastar crumble dan carrot banana.
Untuk rotinya saya suka chilli cheddar breads,brioche dan bagel mixed seed.

Terakhir kesini lunch sama keluarga,setelah waiting list 30 menit akhirnya dapat tempat duduk dengan maksimal waktu 2 jam untuk makan,maklum rame banget pas weekend.
Makanan disini ga pernah ngecewain,meskipun harus agak sabar sama pelayanannya yang slow respon banget.

super enak,juicy dan zucchininya di grilled jadi manis banget cocok sama bumbu dengan daging cincangnya.

Escargots With Gralic Butter Idr 99k
Escargotnya kenyal dan gurih,meskipun agak oily tapi memang enak banget.

Salmon Wonton Ravioli Idr 85k
Lembut banget raviolinya,creamnya gurih,meskipun porsinya sedikit tapi karena rasanya enak jadi puas banget.

Porcini mushroom Idr 85k
Ini juga sama,pastanya keliatannya biasa banget tapi enak loh,creamy banget plus potongan jamurnya royal.

Minumnya kami pesan Orange Squeezed Idr 55k,asem asem seger.

Suka banget sama escargot nya..so delicious �� trus tempatnya enak buat ngobrol" walaupun sebenernya suasananya agak rame tpi enak aja buat ngobrol" :D

Siapa sih yang ga tau Union?
Buat saya, Union ini bisa dibilang pelopor utama Red Velvet Cake - kue yang berwarna merah dan ditaburi dengan kacang. Untuk Red Velvet di Union sendiri ga terlalu manis, rasanya cukup pas dan juga tekstur kuenya renyah, menyatu pas dengan rasa kacangnya. Untuk yang saltynya boleh nyobain escargot yang dimasak dengan pas menurut saya disini. Bumbunya bisa terasa ketika kita lagi mengunyah escargotnya dan ga terlalu berminyak.
Buat yang ingin bersantai sore, disini juga ada afternoon tea package loh yang lengkap sweet dan savory petit fournya.

kayanya semua makanan di union selalu aja enak dan ga ngecewain. untuk harga juga masi okay.. unbtuk pelayanan nya juga okay..

Bermula dari rasa penasaran saya dikarenakan banyak teman - teman saya yang memposting foto makanan - makanan cantik ala Union, saya pun terhasut untuk mengunjungi tempat makan yang lagi nge-trend saat ini, yaitu Union. 

Dikarenakan saat saya pergi ke Union adalah malam minggu aka hari Sabtu Malam, jadinya saya bersama teman saya harus menunggu selama +/- 1 jam untuk dapat mendapatkan tempat duduk. Dan setiap yang Dine-In disana, akan diberikan waktu selama +/- 2 jam untuk menikmati makanan yang dipesan. 

Situasi di Union sangatlah romantis pada malam hari, dengan hanya bermodalkan sebuah lilin dan bunga diatas meja, akan membuat Dinner anda bersama pasangan anda semakin asik.. (A best place to have your romantic candle light dinner with your beloved one) 

Dan begitu melihat menu - menu yang ada didalam daftar menu-book tersebut, saya pun memilih Escargot ('Snail' in French) with garlic butter dan Red Velvet Cake.

Untuk rasa Escargot nya, I LOVE IT! benar - benar enak dan bikin ketagihan, i'll definitely come back for the escargot.. 
Sedangkan untuk Red Velvet Cake nya, for the first 3-bites, i love it too,, rasanya cukup pas dimulut dan porsi cake nya juga lumayan cukup besar, sehingga semakin banyak makan red velvet cake nya, saya merasa sedikit 'jelak / enek' heheh jadi disarankan untuk sharing saja cake nya dengan teman makan anda :P
Dan biasanya Red Velvet Cake ini yang paling laris manis di Union sehingga tidak perlu kaget kalau menu yang satu ini sering saja Sold Out duluan..
